* Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, (Tan Thanh ward, Buon Ma Thuot city):
I am very upset about the situation of the price of domestic water continuously increasing while the quality of service has not improved, even getting worse. The water supply system is also very inadequate. Water pipes leading to residential areas in many places in Buon Ma Thuot city are old, rarely maintained and replaced. I believe that when the price of water increases, people have the right to enjoy commensurate services. I hope that the local government and relevant agencies will soon have solutions to monitor, adjust reasonable policies, break the monopoly on water supply, create opportunities for other investors to participate, thereby improving the quality of service and ensuring legitimate rights for the people.
* Mr. Le Danh Thang, Deputy Director of Department of Finance:
Clean water prices are calculated correctly, taking into account all reasonable and valid production cost factors in the process of exploitation, production, distribution, consumption and profit; in accordance with water quality, economic and technical norms, supply and demand relationship of clean water, natural conditions, socio-economic development conditions of the locality, region and people's income in each period. Water prices are not adjusted arbitrarily but are calculated and built towards ensuring the interests of people, customers, businesses, the State (DAKWACO has 36% of the province's shares) and the socio-economic development needs of the province.
* Mr. Nguyen Cong Dinh, Deputy General Director of Dak Lak Water Supply Joint Stock Company:
Water supply quality is not only related to water sources but also depends on technical infrastructure systems. Pipelines are only designed to meet water supply needs at the time of installation. The water supply network has covered the entire city, but there are newly formed residential areas with rapidly increasing population, previously small pipes, now overloaded; planning is not synchronized, water supply infrastructure must follow; some roads do not have sidewalks, so new pipes cannot be installed. In addition, there are areas of residential land mixed with agricultural land, making it difficult to invest in water supply systems.
