This year, the weather is favorable, so the onion plants have few pests and diseases and have high yields, from 1.5 to 1.7 tons/sao, so each sao the family earns 25 million VND. In addition, the time to grow onions is short, only more than 30 days for replanted onions and 45 days for young onions, the cost of growing onions is low, only fluctuating from 3 to 4 million VND/sao.

Last year, they harvested about 7-8 quintals per day, selling at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg, earning a profit of nearly 30 million VND for the whole season. However, this year, they only harvest 1 - 2 quintals of melons per day. Because the selling price at the garden is low, they have to bring them to the market to sell at a better price of 4,000 - 4,500 VND/kg.
A melon buyer in Cam Lac commune said: This year, due to poor consumption, the price of melons is also lower than in previous years. They buy at the garden for 3,000 VND/kg and sell at the market for 4,000 - 4,500 VND/kg.
