Continue to build an advanced culture imbued with national identity

On the morning of December 18, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held an online conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025, with the theme: "Building an advanced culture imbued with national identity - The driving force for national development in the new era - The era of the Vietnamese people's rise".

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the conference. At the Thanh Hoa province bridge, the conference was attended by comrades: Trinh Tuan Sinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Dau Thanh Tung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, agencies and units.

According to the report of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2024, with the theme of the year: "Dedication - Professionalism - Expertise - Modernity - Solidarity - Discipline - Accelerating to the finish line", the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector has thoroughly grasped and promptly implemented the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, closely following the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, based on the practical situation, actively and proactively implementing tasks, creating a clear change in both awareness, action and results achieved in the fields of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The change in awareness and thinking from “doing culture” to “State management of culture” has been increasingly improved and perfected, approaching in depth. The Ministry has focused on reviewing, promoting the amendment, supplementation, and perfecting of specialized legal policies with 20 legal documents, contributing to removing “bottlenecks” and “knots” to initially create development space.

The work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​and cultural heritage continues to achieve new achievements; the construction of a grassroots cultural environment has achieved encouraging results, contributing to improving the effectiveness of building a healthy cultural environment, promoting the values ​​and roles of family, community, and society...

Literary and artistic creative activities are increasingly vibrant, rich in content, and diverse in expression methods. Digital transformation and the application of modern technology have initially received attention, promoting innovation in creative thinking, production methods, performance, and promotion of literature, art, and cinema, which have become bright spots in the country's literary and artistic picture. The cultural industry is becoming a trend and is identified as an important, sustainable part, contributing to the country's growth.

Localities focused on implementing well the Movements "All people unite to build a cultural life"; Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; art programs were invested in and built with unique content.

The mass sports movement was strongly promoted, high-performance sports achieved many positive results. Vietnamese sports participation in international sports events left many positive marks, winning a total of 1,214 international medals, including 482 gold medals, 360 silver medals, and 372 bronze medals.

In 2024, international tourists to Vietnam are estimated to reach 17.5 million, an increase of 38.9% over the same period in 2023; domestic tourists are estimated to reach 110 million, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2023. Total revenue from tourists is estimated to reach about 840 trillion VND, an increase of 23.8% over the same period in 2023. Foreign cultural affairs have many bright spots, contributing to strengthening the country's international position...

With the consistent goal and mission: "Strongly arousing the spirit of patriotism, national self-reliance and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country"; in 2025, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector will continue to make breakthroughs in creating a space for the development of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the era of the Vietnamese people's rise, actively contributing with the whole country to complete the goals and tasks of socio-economic development in 2025 and the period of 2021-2025.

At the conference, delegates basically agreed with the summary report of work in 2024, and at the same time proposed and recommended to contribute to improving and developing the culture, sports and tourism sector in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the culture of the culture, sports and tourism sector is a graceful and flexible bridge between the past and the present, a bright destination for the future. To promote the role and position of culture, sports and tourism, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested the culture, sports and tourism sector to continue to implement well the lessons learned. That is, closely following the leadership of the Party and State, the consensus and support of the people, and the help of international friends to carry out the assigned tasks; promoting autonomy, self-reliance, grasping the situation, responding flexibly to policies, promoting the endogenous strength of the sector; closely coordinating between agencies in the political system to carry out tasks; building people who are passionate, enthusiastic, and responsible for the culture, sports and tourism sector; harmoniously combining personal interests with national interests; Actively and deeply integrate into the international community to internationalize the national cultural identity and value systems of the Vietnamese people.

The Prime Minister also requested the culture, sports and tourism sector to focus on removing institutional obstacles. He pointed out that in 2025, the culture, sports and tourism sector needs to accelerate breakthroughs with innovative thinking, strategic vision, foresight, deep thinking, great action, promoting intelligence, courage, decisiveness, and resoluteness to effectively organize and implement the set goals and solutions.

Receiving the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and concluding the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung requested the entire sector to receive the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, transform plans into practical work to complete the set plan.
