Continue to operate Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant safely and effectively

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai requested Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company to operate Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant stably, safely and effectively, contributing to the province's economic development.

On the afternoon of August 15, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai led a working delegation to inspect the production and business activities of Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant (under Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company).

Also attending were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha, Colonel Nguyen Hong Phong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department and leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities.

In September 2021, Unit 1 of Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant encountered a technical problem and had to temporarily stop operating.

After nearly 2 years of repair, on August 12, 2023, Unit 1 resumed operation and connected to the national grid. The resumption of operation of Unit 1 is of great significance in ensuring national energy security and serving the development of the country's economy.

Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant currently has 417 employees. In the first 7 months of the year, the plant produced 2,465.2 million kWh; revenue reached 4,698 billion VND; budget contribution was 64.4 billion VND.

The working group inspected Unit 1, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant.

The plant's expected electricity output in 2023 is 5,025 million kWh, reaching 78% of the annual plan; expected revenue is 9,777 billion VND, reaching 76% of the annual plan; estimated state budget contribution is 144 billion VND, reaching 70% of the annual plan.

Because Unit 1 resumed operation later than expected (from March 2023), the plant's production and business targets did not meet the set plan.

Through the inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai acknowledged and commended the efforts of Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company in overcoming and repairing the incident at Unit 1 and maintaining the operation of Unit 2.

Affirming that the resumption of Unit 1 contributes to creating growth momentum for the province and promoting socio-economic development, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company to focus on operating Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant safely and effectively, completing the production and business plan to the highest level; choosing long-term plans and strategies to ensure sufficient coal supply to serve the plant's operational needs; proactively performing well the maintenance of equipment systems so that the units can operate effectively.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant departments, branches and units to continue creating all conditions for the factory to operate stably and effectively.
