Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of departments, ministries, branches and localities, connecting online with 45 Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.
Opening the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO Ha Kim Ngoc said that the conference was an opportunity to evaluate the results of implementing Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW over the past 3 years, to set out directions and measures for more effective implementation in the coming time, thereby practically contributing to the implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, including the task of innovating the propaganda work on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, of which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the agencies assigned to implement.

Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc informed that more than 3 years ago, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the presiding agency, coordinated with relevant ministries, departments, branches and localities to implement the Project "Honoring President Ho Chi Minh, Hero of Vietnamese National Liberation, Outstanding Cultural Figure, Abroad" to summarize 10 years of implementing the Project, making recommendations and proposals to continue to more effectively implement activities honoring Uncle Ho abroad. Based on the summary results, on August 19, 2020, the Secretariat issued Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW on continuing to strengthen propaganda, introduce and honor President Ho Chi Minh, Hero of National Liberation, World Cultural Celebrity to the international community.
“Over the past time, Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW has become a guideline for propaganda, introduction and promotion activities in the international community about the life, career, ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh,” said Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc.
From the perspective of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Minister said that inheriting the important achievements of more than a decade, activities to honor Uncle Ho continue to be practically and effectively implemented through a network of nearly 100 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad. Units within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representative agencies have made efforts to explore and promote collective intelligence in innovating the content, methods, and forms of propaganda about Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style abroad. Forms of honoring Uncle Ho continue to be implemented in a diverse and rich manner, with more attention paid to promoting the meaning and value of Uncle Ho's statues, memorial sites, schools, streets, boulevards, parks, etc. named after Uncle Ho.
According to Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc, the positive results of implementing Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW over the past 3 years have contributed to widely promoting to international friends the great stature, thoughts and contributions of Uncle Ho to the cause of national liberation, the struggle for peace, development and progress of Vietnam and the world; at the same time, thereby helping the overseas Vietnamese community, especially the young generation, to consolidate and promote national pride, towards the homeland and country.
Many activities honoring President Ho Chi Minh stem from the love and sincere affection of governments and people around the world, demonstrating respect for President Ho Chi Minh's noble thoughts and personality and the international community's widespread recognition of his great contributions.
After 3 years, the activities to honor Uncle Ho abroad by ministries, branches and localities within the framework of implementing Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW have achieved positive results. However, Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc emphasized that the implementation process still has certain difficulties; for example, the unprecedented length of COVID-19 has caused many challenges for cultural diplomacy activities in general.

At the conference, delegates discussed and objectively assessed the implementation of activities to continue promoting propaganda, introducing and honoring President Ho Chi Minh to the international community in the past time and future orientations.
The delegates proposed a number of ways to strongly innovate the content, methods, and forms of propaganda about Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, especially for the young generation and the overseas Vietnamese community, making his ideology, morality, and style truly become a solid spiritual foundation of social life, fostering the will of national self-reliance and self-reliance, and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, in accordance with the spirit of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW and Directive No. 05-CT/TW.
Concluding the Conference, Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said that in the coming period, in the face of the changing situation of the world and the region, which brings both opportunities and challenges to our country, ministries, departments, branches and localities need to continue to actively promote, introduce and honor the intelligence, qualities, character and noble ideals of President Ho Chi Minh, through spreading his cultural values abroad to develop and deepen multifaceted relations between Vietnam and other countries, enhance the position and prestige of our country, promote patriotism and national pride, and unite the Vietnamese community abroad.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies organized an exhibition on the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh; displayed many publications introducing his great stature, thoughts and great contributions to Vietnam and the world.
