Impressive numbers

According to statistics from the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board, in 2024, My Son Temple Complex welcomed nearly 446 thousand visitors who bought tickets to visit, reaching 117.7% over the same period. Of which, foreign visitors were nearly 405 thousand, reaching 121.1%; Vietnamese visitors were over 41 thousand, reaching 92.7%.

Total revenue is nearly 71.5 billion VND, reaching 118.9%, of which ticket revenue is over 64.835 billion VND, reaching 118.7%, compared to 2023; revenue from sales services is over 6.418 billion VND, reaching 121.5% over the same period; explanatory revenue is over 241 million VND, multilingual explanatory revenue is over 570 billion VND.

In 2024, the Asian market will witness strong fluctuations when many new tourist streams appear. Among them, some markets with large numbers of tourists include India, Southeast Asia, Korea, Taiwan, etc.

Notably, from the second quarter of 2024, traditional tourist markets such as Europe, Australia, and North America will gradually return, bringing diversity to the structure of My Son's visitors.

According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet - Director of My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board, to achieve the above results, in addition to the efforts of all staff, the determination to focus on the direction of the Board's leadership in building solutions to attract visitors, develop new products, improve service quality... the implementation of digital transformation in tourism activities such as promoting virtual reality tours, multilingual explanations, online tours; wifi coverage of the entire relic area... has helped bring many conveniences and satisfaction to visitors.

“It can be affirmed that the above results cannot be achieved without mentioning the work of promoting, promoting, linking and connecting travel businesses. This plays a very important role in the success of My Son, contributing to spreading the image of the heritage to tourists and business partners at home and abroad,” said Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet.

In 2024, the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board has promoted working with 10 tourism businesses in Da Nang to discuss and propose policies for group promotions, after-sales service, rewards, and gratitude at the end of the year... along with improving the quality of Cham dance performances, brocade weaving, Cham folk costume rentals... investing in completing service infrastructure; bringing bicycles to serve customers; improving the quality of electric car transfer and commentary services; improving the environmental landscape, planting more flower routes to create spaces and attractive check-in points for customers.

In particular, in order to realize the goal of sharing benefits with people in the heritage area, in 2024, My Son Management Board will continue to organize seminars to find solutions to develop community tourism with the participation of local businesses and travel agencies...

At the same time, implement training activities for receptionists, develop and promulgate regulations and rules in serving tourists; promote the construction of green tourist destinations... In 2024, My Son Tourist Area was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a Green Tourist Destination meeting 3/3 criteria.

Promoting heritage conservation

The highlight event in the conservation of My Son heritage in 2024 was the discovery and successful organization of a scientific workshop on the value and significance of the path leading to the K tower area, which was confirmed by experts as the zodiac path leading to the center of the relic. The results of the workshop have firmly demonstrated the depth of cultural layers still hidden deep underground in My Son that need to be further researched and explored.

Next are heritage conservation cooperation programs with many domestic and international experts and organizations, such as cooperation with Polish experts to use LiDar technology to survey and restore relics; cooperation with Japanese experts to survey heritage stratigraphy; cooperation with Russian experts to research construction materials; cooperation with the Institute for Monument Conservation to treat moss and mold on the walls of brick and stone architectural works...

In particular, connecting and working with the Indian ambassador and relevant Vietnamese agencies to arrange funding and build technical documents to implement the F tower group restoration project in 2025, helping to save and revive this group of towers.

A remarkable success in the conservation work of the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board in 2024 is demonstrated by the rapid implementation of sub-projects to preserve and restore architectural works from the unit's counterpart funds, promptly reinforcing towers C4, C5, C6, C7, expanding the path for visitors to visit towers B, C, D. Monitoring and evaluating the current status of the relic, reinforcing architectural locations at risk of landslides...

At the same time, continue to maintain heritage education in schools by coordinating with the Department of Education and Training of Duy Xuyen district to develop a plan to bring students of all levels to visit and experience My Son Temple Complex and Sa Huynh - Champa Museum, becoming a useful extracurricular program that brings a lot of excitement, helping students learn about local historical and cultural values, fostering pride and love for their homeland and country.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet affirmed that by the end of 2024, most of the goals set for the year will have been completed. Notably, key and breakthrough tasks such as international cooperation, scientific research, linkage and connection in tourism activities, etc. have all achieved positive results.

“The tasks assigned by the District Party Committee and District People's Committee have all been completed and exceeded. This not only reflects the efforts of the collective and individual units but also demonstrates innovation in leadership, daring to think and act, choosing key and breakthrough tasks to carry out and successfully carry out” - Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet shared.
