In August 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to transfer the state-owned housing fund in the city (except for the City Housing Business Management Company) to the Center for Housing Management and Construction Inspection (under the Department of Construction) for management and operation.
According to the HCM City Department of Construction, to date, the center has received 9,967/10,328 apartments, has not received 365 apartments, and has not received 296 apartments. These apartments are arranged by the People's Committees of districts, towns and Thu Duc City for resettled households.
Ho Chi Minh City prepares to auction nearly 4,000 resettlement apartments
The Center for Housing Management and Construction Inspection also received 2,333 resettlement plots under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Up to now, the unit has received 1,216 plots, has not received 685 plots, and has not received the remaining 432 plots.
Regarding the housing fund for resettlement, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that for old apartment buildings, the Department of Construction should advise the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to follow faster procedures to ensure that in April or May there will be a resettlement housing fund to arrange for households affected by the projects.
In the resettlement apartment and land fund, Ho Chi Minh City has a policy of auctioning 4,927 apartments and 40 land plots. Recently, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment reported to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on adjusting the implementation time of the detailed plan to organize the auction of land and 3,790 apartments in the new urban area of Thu Thiem (Thu Duc City).
Of which, with 3,790 apartments (lots R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, area 38.4 ha, An Khanh ward) under the program to build 12,500 resettlement apartments for people evicted in the new urban area of Thu Thiem, the time to prepare documents for auction is before July 7, the expected auction time is before September 26.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee directed the units to advise and propose reports on the conversion from the resettlement housing fund target to commercial housing; establish public ownership of common construction items, corridors, stairs, parks, walkways, parks and submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to establish public ownership of public assets for auction.
