On July 6, Hai Phong City People's Committee, Department of Sports and Physical Training, Tien Phong newspaper, Vietnam Golf Association jointly held a press conference to announce the 2023 National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup.

The tournament will take place over 4 days (from August 8 to August 11) at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong with the participation of the best golfers in Vietnam at the moment.

The National Golf Championship is the oldest golf tournament in Vietnam (since 2005).

This event also laid the foundation for the establishment of the national golf competition system of the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA).

The National Golf Championship is always the event that leads the movement and accompanies the development of Vietnamese golf.

Over the past 17 years, the National Golf Championship has made strides to expand its scale, improve professional quality and organization, and adapt to the development of Vietnam's golf industry.

With the participation of Tien Phong newspaper in organizing, 2022 marks a major turning point when the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) decided to bring the National Golf Championship into the Vietnam Professional Golf Tournament System (VGA Tour).

This helps the tournament return to its true meaning of finding the best golfer in Vietnam, regardless of amateur or professional, and is the pinnacle arena to honor and nurture Vietnamese golf talent.

This year, the 2023 National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup brings together 160 golfers (120 male golfers and 40 female golfers) competing in 4 rounds of 18 holes (total 72 holes) on Marshland course in the Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong golf and resort complex.

To ensure high professional quality, the 2023 National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup limits the maximum handicap for amateur players to 6.0 for men and 10.0 for women.

In order to increase competitiveness and attractiveness, the 2023 National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup has a prize fund of up to 1.2 billion VND.

Of which, 1 billion VND is for the men's division and 200 million VND is for the women's division. Up to now, the prize fund for the women's division is the highest ever.

The tournament is committed to supporting 100% of the costs for members of the National Golf Team to attend the 19th Asian Games and 50% of the costs for young amateur talents under 18 years old.
