This victory brought coach Le Huynh Duc's team to 3rd place on the rankings, with 10 points after 5 matches, 3 points behind the leading team Nam Dinh. In contrast, Khanh Hoa only has 3 points after 5 matches, ranking 12th, only 1 point ahead of the bottom team Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

In another match that took place on the afternoon of December 10, Quang Nam defeated Ha Tinh 1-0 at Hoa Xuan Stadium (Da Nang). The only goal of the match was scored by Yago Ramos in the 78th minute.
