On September 29, Brigade 249, Engineering Corps organized the implementation of the PMP 60T bridge construction plan to ensure traffic and overcome the collapse of Phong Chau bridge span.
According to initial information, Brigade 249 mobilized over 200 officers and soldiers and nearly 90 vehicles of various types to participate in the mission.
At present, the Red River at the bridge location is nearly 190m wide, with a flow velocity of about 1.1m/s and a depth of over 12m.
On September 28, the Brigade launched equipment including: 29 offshore platforms, 3 pier platforms, tugboats, ferries, and canoes of various types.
To build the bridge, Brigade 249 determined to use 26 offshore sections and 2 abutment sections. The bridge is operated from 6am to 10pm daily. Primitive vehicles, motorbikes, scooters, and 3-wheeled motorbikes are allowed to travel in both directions, with a speed not exceeding 5km/h.
For cars: Only cars and pickup trucks are allowed to travel in one direction when crossing the bridge, each direction is 10 minutes, the distance between vehicles on the bridge is not less than 30m, the speed is not more than 10km/h. Phu Tho Newspaper will continue to update!
