On September 20, striker Rafaelson of Nam Dinh Club officially became a Vietnamese citizen under the name Nguyen Xuan Son after completing the naturalization procedures.
The player born in 1997 in Brazil is eligible to play as a Vietnamese player of foreign origin from round 2 of V-League 2024-2025 in the match between Nam Dinh and Quang Nam at Thien Truong Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on September 23.
With Nguyen Xuan Son's successful naturalization, Nam Dinh Club has been strengthened for its goals in the 2024-2025 season. This is because they can register 5/6 foreign players (using 3 foreign players on the field), including: Hendrio, Lucas Alves, Walber Motta, Joseph Mpande, Caio Cesar and Lucas De Jesus.
