According to Tuoi Tre Online, in a letter sent to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Government Office from the capital New Delhi, Chairman of Adani Group Gautam Adani sent his deepest condolences to all Vietnamese people, especially those facing severe consequences caused by storm Yagi and floods.

“We are deeply saddened to witness the enormous loss of life and property caused by natural disasters, as well as the hardships that communities in the northern provinces of Vietnam are enduring,” said Gautam Adani.

According to the Chairman of Adani Group, for generations, the country and people of Vietnam have always shown extraordinary strength and incredible determination in overcoming adversity. Therefore, in this particularly difficult time, it is extremely important that we unite and wholeheartedly support the people most affected by natural disasters.

Expressing his wish to contribute 1 million USD to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee to support the Vietnamese people, the chairman of a large Indian corporation hopes that this amount will be a part of the common effort of the entire people.

This is also a contribution to provide necessary support for charity relief activities in the northern provinces of Vietnam affected by storms and floods and the Viet Tiep Hai Phong Friendship Hospital in the coming time.

In the letter, the chairman of Adani Group affirmed that he is always ready to accompany and stand side by side with the Vietnamese people to overcome this natural disaster.

“I would like to sincerely send my best wishes for peace to the people of Vietnam and hope that all families and communities affected by storms and floods will soon overcome the losses caused by natural disasters,” said the chairman of Adani Group.

At the same time, he also expressed his admiration for the resilience and optimism of the Vietnamese people in the face of all difficulties, as well as further appreciated the friendly cooperative relationship between Adani and Vietnam.

Committed to accompanying and contributing to Vietnam

Mr. Gautam Adani also expressed his commitment to continue focusing on investment and soon successfully implementing investment projects, to support the community and promote the local economy towards a prosperous future.

Previously, during his state visit to India in July 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group - India's largest corporation specializing in infrastructure and energy.

The group's chairman expressed his desire to invest in the Lien Chieu port project in Da Nang with an estimated investment capital of more than 2 billion USD, Vinh Tan 3 thermal power plant with an estimated investment capital of 2.8 billion USD, as well as proposed to combine with Vietnamese partners to invest in airports, aviation and logistics such as Chu Lai airport and Long Thanh airport phase 2.

The investor’s concerns were listened to and resolved by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the meeting. The Prime Minister also requested that the investor work immediately with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to discuss specific implementation contents in the spirit of “clear people, clear work, clear time and clear products”.

Adani is India's largest conglomerate specializing in infrastructure and energy; owns 14 of the largest private seaports in India, accounting for 25% of India's seaport capacity and 7 airports in the country; is India's largest energy conglomerate.
