The truth about Khanh Hoa Club owing players money, at risk of leaving V-League 2023/2024

Confirming with VTC News, a player playing for Khanh Hoa Club in the 2023 season said: " We have been paid in full but are owed 70% of the contract signing fee, which is a huge amount for the players. We received many promises from the old sponsor. I also heard that this amount was supported from a number of sources but so far the players have not received it ."

Khanh Hoa FC ranked 11th in V-League 2023, winning the right to stay in the league 2 rounds early. Although not a financially well-off club, the Nha Trang coastal city team still played with determination and left many good impressions on fans. Khanh Hoa FC always entered the match with a brave spirit and a clear style of play. However, financial and personnel difficulties prevented them from flying high.

Also because of the debt of more than 10 billion VND, the transfer process and completion of legal procedures between Khanh Hoa Club and the new sponsor cannot be completed.

According to VTC News, the contracts of many key players such as Dinh Kha, Ngoc Cuong, Duy Thanh and Duy Duong have not been officially signed.

The club's new sponsor is not a financially strong unit compared to other bosses in the V-League, but they are capable of committing a sponsorship amount of 35 billion VND/season. Khanh Hoa Province also supports the team with about 25 billion VND for spending and developing youth football from the Local Football Development Fund. The amount of 60 billion VND may be enough for Khanh Hoa Club to operate in the 2023/2024 season.

However, this money cannot be used to pay the team's debts from last season due to problems in the takeover agreement with the new sponsor. If a solution cannot be found for the outstanding debt from the old sponsor, Khanh Hoa Club may not be able to complete the takeover procedures as well as legal issues with the players. If this happens, the coastal city team may have to withdraw from the V-League 2023/2024.
