This is the information just announced by Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat at the 15th National Nuclear Science and Technology Conference. The conference was attended by nearly 450 delegates who are scientists, leading experts, researchers in the nuclear field at home and abroad; postgraduates and students from domestic universities.
In his opening speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Minister of Science and Technology, emphasized: The National Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology (VINANST) is an important scientific event, of great significance to promoting scientific research and developing the application of atomic energy in the country in the context that Vietnam is actively promoting science and technology, and applying atomic energy for peaceful purposes.
Over the past years, research, development, application and training in the field of nuclear energy in Vietnam have achieved many remarkable achievements. The Vietnamese nuclear energy industry has overcome many difficulties and challenges to achieve development goals, focusing on enhancing the potential of nuclear science and technology; supporting the acquisition, mastery, transfer and development of technology; creating many technologies, products and services to serve the cause of socio-economic development, meeting the requirements of the country.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat said that this conference has grown in terms of organization scale, number of delegates, especially the content and quality of scientific reports, contributing to the orientation, construction and implementation of research and development programs, while strengthening and expanding international cooperation in the nuclear field of Vietnam.
The 15th National Nuclear Science and Technology Conference selected nearly 200 reports from scientists and researchers to serve the content of exchange and discussion, of which 131 reports were presented at the plenary session and at the subcommittees.
After the opening session, the Conference proceeded to a plenary session with 20 presentations from guest speakers, scientists, leading experts from research institutes, universities, hospitals and prestigious organizations in the field of atomic energy in Vietnam and internationally.

At the plenary session, there was also a roundtable discussion between the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute and the Dubna Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) on research results and cooperation prospects between the two sides; leading experts discussed issues such as radiation beam research at FLNR... Within the framework of the Conference, there was also an IAEA Workshop with the theme "Economic and social impact of the Regional Cooperation Program (RCA) and innovation initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region".
Initiated in 1996, the National Nuclear Science and Technology Conference is held every two years to announce new results in research, application, and teaching in the field of nuclear science and technology in Vietnam and internationally.
