Promoting the introduction of US agricultural products into the Vietnamese market

According to statistics from the US Department of Agriculture , in 2023, the US was the third largest exporter of agricultural products to Vietnam with an export value of 3.1 billion USD. In the first 8 months of this year, Vietnam's import turnover from the US market reached 9.8 billion USD, of which a significant part was agricultural products.

Grasping the growing demand for high-quality imported products, the United States has promoted import activities in recent years to ensure that the Vietnamese market can access the best agricultural products from the United States such as potatoes, apples, blueberries and chicken.

If consumers have ever known American apples or blueberries, American potatoes and chicken will contribute to diversifying people's daily food choices and also serve the foreign communities living and working in Vietnam.

In order to increase the import of US agricultural products to Vietnam, recently, within the framework of the visit to Vietnam of the US agricultural trade delegation led by the Under Secretary of Agriculture, US Department of Agriculture, Alexis Taylor visited MM Mega Market - an importer of high-quality US agricultural products to serve the Vietnamese market.

During the visit to MM Mega Market An Phu ( Ho Chi Minh City), the US agricultural trade delegation learned about high-quality domestic and imported agricultural products on sale at the supermarket. The delegation also expressed excitement when visiting the booth selling mixed baby potatoes and American red potatoes at the supermarket.

According to the delegation representative, the US potato industry relies on experience and research from seed to harvest to produce better potato yield and quality and help farmers reduce their ecological impact. US potato growers and agronomists must be certified in soil care and crop control. The application of modern farming techniques such as the global positioning system (GPS) ensures that potato plants receive optimal moisture and nutrients throughout the growing period. US potatoes are therefore guaranteed quality and consistency, meeting all quality standards when exported to any country in the world .
