Thua Thien - Hue: After the tornado, soldiers did not let people sleep in the open

On September 25, after receiving news that many houses had their roofs blown off by the tornado, the Military Command of Thua Thien - Hue province directed units to mobilize dozens of officers, regular army staff, and militia to the scene to help people quickly overcome the damage.

Officers and soldiers of the Quang Dien District Military Command and local militia help people re-roof their houses.

In Quang Thanh commune (Quang Dien district), heavy rain and tornadoes caused the roofs of more than 30 houses to be blown off.

Mr. Tran Dung's house (in Thanh Trung village, Quang Thanh commune) was one of the households that suffered heavy damage. The entire roof was blown away by the tornado, and all the family's belongings were soaked.

To help Mr. Dung's family temporarily stabilize during the storm, the Quang Dien District Military Command mobilized staff and militia to use a large tarpaulin to temporarily stretch over the roof. After nearly 1 hour, Mr. Dung's family's roof was temporarily repaired.

"After the tornado, all the household items and clothes in the family were soaked by the rain. Now the family has to buy tarpaulins to cover them. Thanks to the officers, soldiers, and militiamen who came to help stretch the tarpaulins over the roof and carefully cover it, the family is now temporarily stable. On behalf of the family, I sincerely thank the soldiers," said Mr. Dung.

Heavy rain and tornadoes have caused many houses in Thua Thien - Hue to have their roofs blown off.

In Hue City, the tornado also caused dozens of houses in Phu Thanh, Huong Vinh, Huong Phong and Thuan An Ward to have their roofs blown off. The Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Military Command also directed the Hue City Military Command to mobilize forces to quickly go to the scene to help the people.

Here, the forces urgently helped people, using tarpaulins to temporarily stretch on the roof, to take temporary shelter.

Present at the damaged areas, Colonel Ha Van Ai, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of Thua Thien - Hue province, encouraged households affected by the storm.

According to Colonel Ai, with the motto of not letting people live in the open and cold, the Provincial Military Command has directed the Military Commands of districts, towns and cities to urgently help people in localities overcome the damage.

In addition, direct agencies and units from the province down to districts, towns and cities to ensure forces and means, well implement the 4-on-the-spot motto, proactively grasp the situation of tropical depressions and floods, and deploy plans to be ready to respond when situations arise.
