On the morning of November 28, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, President of the Brazilian Communist Party Luciana Santos, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
Welcoming the Minister on her first visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believed that the visit would achieve good results, contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and countries; especially in the fields of science, technology and innovation, which are very important in the development of the two countries.
On this occasion, through the Minister, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed his greetings, best wishes and thanks to Brazilian President Lula da Silva for his close feelings and substantive exchanges, contributing to the success of the recent visit of the Prime Minister and the Vietnamese Government delegation to Brazil; stating that the Vietnamese high-ranking leaders look forward to welcoming President Lula da Silva to Vietnam on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, raising the bilateral relationship to a new height.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements that the Brazilian Communist Party as a political party has achieved in recent times, thereby consolidating and enhancing the position of the Brazilian Communist Party in Brazilian politics; he believed that the Brazilian Communist Party would make many positive contributions to the governance results of the left-wing Government in Brazil under the leadership of President Lula da Silva.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his hope that the Brazilian Government would pay attention to directing and promoting the early completion of the process of Brazil recognizing Vietnam's market economy status, contributing to deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation, facilitating the fair and mutually beneficial handling of trade defense issues, and meeting the aspirations of the business communities of the two countries.
Brazil is interested in promoting the bloc's internal consensus on the early launch of the Vietnam - MERCOSUR FTA negotiations, facilitating businesses of both sides to access each other's markets, creating momentum to enhance business, trade and investment cooperation, bringing about substantial results for businesses and people of Vietnam and MERCOSUR member countries; and at the same time strengthening inter-regional economic linkages.

Thanking the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation and agreeing with the opinions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, President of the Brazilian Communist Party Luciana Santos said that Brazilian President Lula da Silva was very pleased to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Brazil recently and conveyed President Luciana Santos' emotional letter to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Informing Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh about the results of the talks with the Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam, the Minister said that the two sides agreed to promote cooperation, especially in the fields of science and technology, emerging technology sectors such as priority research and development, innovation, digital transformation, quantum technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, semiconductor technology, etc.
The Head of the Vietnamese Government asked the Brazilian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation to pay special attention to cooperation between the two countries in potential and new areas such as green development, digital transformation, renewable energy, climate change; promote cooperation in the fields of science and technology, agriculture, labor and human resource training, especially in the field of emerging technologies.
The Prime Minister thanked Brazil for its attention and creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to do business, live and study in Brazil; he hoped that Brazil would continue to support and create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Brazil, and that the two sides would continue to have more specific projects to achieve concrete results, bringing the relationship between the two countries more and more practical and effective.
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam is ready to actively accompany Brazil on multilateral and international issues, including promoting priorities of mutual concern at the G20 Summit in 2024 to be held in Brazil.
