On the evening of June 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Beijing, successfully concluding their official visit to China and attending the WEF Tianjin Conference.

Seeing off Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the airport were Chinese Foreign Ministry leader Nong Dung, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, and Director of the Protocol Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

On the Vietnamese side, there were the Vietnamese Ambassador to China, embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China.

During his visit and attendance at the Conference from June 25-28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a busy schedule, notably holding talks and meetings with senior Chinese leaders; holding discussions and exchanges with major Chinese enterprises; meeting with friendly personalities, staff of representative agencies and the Vietnamese community living and working in China.

Attending the WEF Tianjin Conference, the Prime Minister delivered important speeches at discussion and dialogue sessions within the framework of the Conference and had bilateral meetings.

Attach importance to developing good Vietnam-China relations

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to China this time will promote regional economic integration, deepen and strengthen Vietnam-China relations.

The visit is of great significance because it is the first official visit to China by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and also the first official visit by a Vietnamese Prime Minister to China in the past seven years, continuing regular exchanges and contacts between senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries.

The visit takes place in the context of 2023 being the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

The visit continues the tradition of high-level contacts and exchanges between the two countries; demonstrates the importance of the two Parties and two countries in the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the determination to develop this relationship to be more sustainable, stable and substantive.

During his official visit to China, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the official welcoming ceremony and had important talks with his counterpart - Prime Minister Li Qiang and witnessed the signing of cooperation documents.

The Prime Minister met with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji; met with Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning ; met with friendly intellectuals and dignitaries; received a number of prominent Korean businesses; attended the Vietnam-China business forum; and visited the Xiong'an New Area.

During the talks, the two heads of government had an in-depth exchange of views on important issues in Vietnam-China relations and reached broad consensus on concretizing the achievements and high-level common perceptions during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's official visit to China at the end of 2022, deepening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to developing good relations with the Party, Government and People of fraternal China; affirming that this is a consistent policy, a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification.

In return, Prime Minister Li Qiang emphasized that China always considers Vietnam a priority in its overall neighborly foreign policy; always supports Vietnam in successfully carrying out the cause of industrialization, modernization of the country and enhancing its international role.

The two sides agreed to promote the effective implementation of the Vietnam-China Joint Statement on further promoting and deepening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership; agreed to increase the exchange of high-level delegations, enhance cooperation in all aspects; promote people-to-people exchange and local cooperation, etc.

The two Prime Ministers also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreeing to maintain coordination and cooperation at regional and international forums.

Receiving Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping sent his warm regards to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Vo Van Thuong.

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping hopes that both sides will strengthen propaganda about China-Vietnam friendship; welcome Vietnam to participate in China's global initiatives, and jointly promote peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Vietnam brings optimistic economic recovery story to WEF

After the official welcoming ceremony, talks and witnessing the signing ceremony with Prime Minister Li Qiang during his official visit to China, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh went to Beijing train station and went to Tianjin to attend the 2023 WEF Tianjin Conference.

Vietnam demonstrates a positive spirit of cooperation with international partners to solve global issues to maintain and promote regional and world economic growth; strengthens cooperation with international enterprises, especially Chinese enterprises, to continue creating a favorable international environment, attracting more foreign capital to invest in Vietnam.

Attending the Conference, the Prime Minister attended and spoke at the Vietnam National Strategic Dialogue and the World Economic Forum (WEF) with the theme: Promoting new growth drivers to create the country's future; received Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and Executive Chairman of WEF; witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Vietnam and WEF for the period 2023-2026; attended the reception for the Heads of Delegations chaired by Prime Minister Li Qiang; attended the Opening Session of the Conference; attended the Discussion Session with the theme "Coping with Headwinds: Restarting Growth in a Fragile Context" and had bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of New Zealand, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, the Prime Minister of Barbados; received the Vice President of Nasdaq Corporation (USA).

In the discussion session with the theme “Coping with headwinds: restarting growth in a fragile context”, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized six “headwinds” that are hindering the growth of the world economy and Vietnam. And to cope with the “headwinds”, the Prime Minister proposed an approach and six important orientations.

The head of the Vietnamese Government shared the country's experiences and lessons in the process of fighting the pandemic and recovering and promoting economic growth; committed that Vietnam will continue to create the most favorable conditions for international and domestic enterprises, and continue to improve the investment and business environment.

Sharing the comments and directions given by the Prime Minister, WEF President Borge Brende said that the international community knows Vietnam as one of the countries with high economic growth in the region, developing very dynamically and converging many potentials to increasingly contribute to regional and global economic growth.

In a private meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, WEF Founder and Executive Chairman, Professor Klaus Schwab said that Vietnam's participation and contribution at the conference brought an optimistic story of economic recovery in the context of the global economy facing many challenges; emphasizing a strong commitment to promoting cooperation with Vietnam.

Professor Klaus Schwab respectfully invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the WEF Forum in January 2024 in Davos. The Prime Minister also invited Professor Klaus Schwab and WEF leaders to visit Vietnam soon, spend time speaking and inspiring Vietnamese youth about new development trends in the world. The two sides agreed to arrange visits in the near future.
