Prime Minister: "Initiatives worth hundreds of billions demonstrate the intelligence of Vietnamese workers"

On the afternoon of October 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the conference to summarize the program "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic" organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Hanoi.

According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the program was implemented from September 1, 2021 with the goal of reaching 1 million initiatives by September 1, 2023.

The results exceeded expectations, the program received more than 2 million initiatives, many of which had high profit value, over 100 billion VND/year; the total estimated profit value was more than 33,000 billion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recalled that more than 2 years ago, in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made an appeal to compatriots, comrades, soldiers nationwide and our compatriots abroad on the work of preventing and fighting the pandemic, with great confidence: "We will definitely defeat the Covid-19 pandemic".

Responding to the General Secretary's call, the entire Party, people and army have joined hands, made the highest efforts in preventing and fighting the pandemic. The Prime Minister launched a special emulation movement "The whole country unites, joins hands, and competes to prevent, fight and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic".

With the special emulation movement "1 million initiatives, efforts, overcoming difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic", the Prime Minister assessed that the program was successful in all three aspects: launching, organizing implementation; bringing high results and widespread effects throughout the country.

The Head of Government said that the initiatives have demonstrated the creativity and intelligence of Vietnamese workers, promptly adapting to living and working conditions in the context of the complicated pandemic and in the new normal period.

The initiatives have significantly contributed to stabilizing and restoring production and business activities of enterprises and implementing the political tasks of agencies and units. The movement also affirms the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, self-reliance, self-improvement, pioneering role, creativity and innovation of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union, realizing the aspiration to build a strong, prosperous and happy country.

"The outstanding collectives and individuals honored today are vivid evidence, shining examples, and core elements to contribute to making the emulation movement "Good workers, Creative workers" of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor increasingly go into depth and achieve higher results," the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister believes that there are many other outstanding collectives and individuals who, although not yet recognized, are still working day and night silently and tirelessly to create, contribute, and contribute to the development and prosperity of the country and the happiness and well-being of the people.

The Prime Minister noted that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor must regularly pay attention to, listen to, understand, and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers. Trade unions must speak the sincere voice of workers; promptly resolve difficulties and problems with practical actions to further improve the lives of workers.

The Head of Government also hopes that workers, civil servants and laborers will join hands and unite to create a new breakthrough in labor productivity to help Vietnam rise up and develop quickly and sustainably.

President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that with a high sense of responsibility, the program has achieved comprehensive and outstanding results, reaching the target of 1 million initiatives 332 days ahead of schedule. Today's program honored and commended 33 outstanding collectives and 46 outstanding individuals.
