The Prime Minister had working sessions with leading Czech and European corporations wishing to expand investment in Vietnam, including Skoda Auto Group, Seven Global Investments Group and PPF Group.
According to the special envoy of the Vietnam News Agency, during his official visit to the Czech Republic, on the morning of January 19 (local time), in the capital city of Prague, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had working sessions with leading corporations from the Czech Republic and Europe that are and wish to expand investment in Vietnam, including Skoda Auto Group, Seven Global Investments Group and PPF Group.
During the meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the leaders of Skoda Auto Group, Mr. Klaus Zellmer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the group, said that Skoda Auto is the largest automobile manufacturer in the Czech Republic.
The Group chose Vietnam to invest because it sees Vietnam as the gateway for the Group to enter ASEAN, especially because it is a beautiful country and a highly reliable partner.
In 2022, Skoda Auto and Thanh Cong Group signed a cooperation agreement to manufacture and distribute Skoda-branded vehicles in Vietnam, with the goal of localization, application of modern technology and clean energy.
Skoda Auto Group and Thanh Cong Group are implementing a project to build a manufacturing and assembly plant in Quang Ninh; hoping to receive support from the Government for the success of the project, providing quality products to the people of Vietnam and ASEAN; The Government has support and incentive policies to promote the use of electric vehicles in Vietnam, opportunities for stakeholders in Vietnam to expand the infrastructure of electric charging stations, Skoda's roadmap in introducing electric vehicles in the Vietnamese market.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated and believed that Skoda’s choice of Thanh Cong Group to cooperate and invest in Vietnam was the right choice, not only because of its intelligence but also because of its heart; suggested that Skoda invest on a large scale, produce products with high technology content; transfer technology, increase localization; help Vietnamese enterprises participate deeply in the production chain, supply chain of the group and the world...
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Vietnam is in the process of promoting the transition to sustainable transportation, including electric vehicles, with incentives and support for the production and assembly of electric cars and encouraging the use of electric cars.
The Prime Minister asked Skoda to continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to discuss CKD projects in Vietnam, future development plans, ensure compliance with legal regulations and relevant investment procedures, as well as continue to seek opportunities to expand investment and business in the Vietnamese market.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is committed to always creating favorable conditions, in accordance with the provisions of law, for the group in particular and Czech investors in general to invest and do business effectively and sustainably, in accordance with the provisions of law in Vietnam.

During a meeting with the leaders of Seven Global Investments Group, Mr. Pavel Tykač, owner of Seven Global Investments and SK Slavia Praha Football Club and associates, said that Seven Global Investments is an investment group headquartered in the Czech Republic, operating in many countries around the world; focusing on long-term investments in power generation, coal mining, metallurgy, mining rights and natural resources.
The group currently manages approximately 3 billion euros in equity; it is investing in the Mong Duong 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant in Vietnam. Seven Global Investments hopes that the Vietnamese government will speed up the approval process for the group to purchase a controlling stake in the Mong Duong 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Seven Global Investments Group's investment in Vietnam; wished that Mong Duong 2 BOT Plant would operate at full capacity, achieve high efficiency, bring value to shareholders, employees and the community, and support the global energy transition in general and Vietnam in particular.
Regarding the group's proposal, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Seven Global Investments to continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to discuss, answer questions and complete the capital transfer dossier, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and relevant investment procedures; to complete in the first quarter of 2025, in the spirit of "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear time, clear products," "no saying no, no saying difficult, no saying yes but not doing."

During the meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the leaders of PPF Group, Mr. Jiri Smejc, CEO of PPF International Group, said that PPF Group is a multi-industry international corporation with total assets of more than 43 billion euros (as of December 31, 2023) and a team of 55,000 employees in 25 countries.
The Group operates in the fields of financial services, telecommunications, media, biotechnology, real estate and transportation solutions.
PPF has a subsidiary, Home Credit Group. Currently, Home Credit Vietnam is actively implementing social responsibilities and has made many contributions to the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has been continuously ranked in the Top 100 sustainable enterprises in Vietnam for 3 years (2022-2024).
Mr. Jiri Smejc said PPF is one of the largest financial groups in Central Eastern Europe, affirming that Vietnam is an important partner and has achieved positive business results in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the effective business performance of PPF in general and Home Credit Vietnam in particular. The Prime Minister stated that the Vietnam-Czech relationship continues to develop well, especially in the context of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and preparing to upgrade their relations.
This is a good foundation to continue promoting economic, investment and trade cooperation activities between the business communities of the two countries.
Taking note of PPF’s proposals, the Prime Minister said that the agencies will handle the procedures for the capital transfer plan at Home Credit Vietnam according to regulations; and requested PPF to continue to closely coordinate with the State Bank, the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies to discuss and resolve existing problems.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked PPF to research and seek opportunities to expand operations in Vietnam, affirming that the success of investors is also Vietnam's success.
