Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the task in 2024 is bigger than in 2023, and must be completed better than in 2023.
On the morning of February 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a working conference with the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and 19 affiliated corporations and groups on implementing production and business in 2024 and promoting investment in socio-economic development.
Also attending the meeting were comrade Le Minh Khai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh; leaders of ministries, branches and central agencies.
In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the conference aimed to assess the performance of the Committee and its affiliated corporations and groups in 2023 and tasks and solutions to implement production and business in 2024 and promote investment in socio-economic development.
Summarizing the important and positive achievements and results of 2023, the Prime Minister emphasized two very important points: One is that the people's trust in the Party and the State has been consolidated and enhanced; two is that the people's material and spiritual life has been improved. The achievements and results of the whole country in 2023 include contributions from the Committee and its affiliated corporations and general companies.
Although 19 corporations and general companies only account for a small proportion of more than 820 State-owned enterprises in our country, they are an important material force of the State economy, holding the majority of total equity as well as total assets of State-owned enterprises in the whole country, making important contributions to promoting economic development and realizing social progress and equity.
The Prime Minister stated that the tasks in 2024 are bigger than in 2023 and must be completed better than in 2023. If the Government wants to complete its tasks better than in 2023, each ministry, branch, corporation, and general company must do better.

With the hope that in 2024, corporations and general companies must invest more, the Prime Minister asked delegates to focus on discussing, giving opinions, maximizing collective intelligence, determining orientations, solutions, and key tasks in 2024 of the Committee and corporations and general companies in implementing the 2024 socio-economic development plan, especially the task of investment and development.
According to the program, after the report of the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises on the situation of operations in 2023, the implementation of production and business in 2024 and the promotion of investment in socio-economic development, the conference will listen to enterprises, ministries and branches clarify and supplement key issues, tasks and solutions for the coming time and propose specific solutions in the short, medium and long term associated with the implementation responsibilities of specific agencies and units and the completion deadline; at the same time, determine the roadmap for proposing amendments and supplements to relevant institutions, policies and laws. Leaders of ministries, branches and localities will discuss and clarify the issues raised, especially recommendations on institutional amendments, promoting decentralization and delegation of power.
