Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on relevant parties in all conflicts to resolve them through dialogue to find long-term solutions, taking into account the legitimate interests of all parties.
Speaking at the discussion session "Towards a peaceful, stable and prosperous world" within the framework of the expanded G7 Summit in Hiroshima on May 21, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented Vietnam's messages on peace, stability and development of global and regional cooperation.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam will contribute to peace, wishes to end conflicts, not use or threaten to use nuclear weapons, respect sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensure food, energy and human security.
Referring to the spirit of respecting the United Nations Charter, international law, and resolving all disputes by peaceful means, the Prime Minister called on all parties involved in any conflict to resolve it through dialogue and negotiation to find long-term solutions, taking into account the legitimate interests of all parties. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam does not choose sides but chooses righteousness, fairness, justice and reason.
According to him, the values of trust, sincerity and responsibility are consistently demonstrated by Vietnam through its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, development cooperation and multilateralization.

Regarding regional issues, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that the international community and partners will support ASEAN's central role in building a peaceful, stable, cooperative and resilient region. Countries need to seriously implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and move towards achieving a substantive and effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).
The Prime Minister also requested that all parties exercise restraint and not take actions that complicate the situation or violate the sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction of the relevant countries established by UNCLOS 1982.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a brief meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam attaches importance to the traditional friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries. Regarding the current conflict in Ukraine, the Prime Minister affirmed Vietnam's consistent stance of respecting the United Nations Charter and international law, especially the principles of respecting the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of nations, non-interference in internal affairs, non-use of force or threat of use of force, and all disputes must be resolved by peaceful means.
Vietnam hopes that the parties concerned will soon end the conflict, resume dialogue, and resolve disputes by peaceful means. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam is ready to support the parties in finding a long-term peaceful solution on the basis of international law and respecting the legitimate interests of the parties.
President Zelensky expressed his gratitude for Vietnam's stance and humanitarian support, and agreed to take measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 49th G7 Summit on May 20-21 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. This is the third time Vietnam has attended this summit and the second time at the invitation of Japan. This year, Vietnam is one of two Southeast Asian countries invited by Japan, along with Indonesia.
The G7, comprising advanced industrial nations the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Canada and Italy, plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global structure and governance.
