Prime Minister Hun Manet talks about turning point when exchanging with Foreign Trade students

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said this was the first time he spoke to students abroad and "it was a new turning point in my work because when I was a student I was listened to but today I speak".
On the morning of December 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet visited and interacted with students and lecturers of the Foreign Trade University. The two Prime Ministers were impressed by the image of students with bright smiles, lining up holding Vietnamese and Cambodian flags to welcome the two Prime Ministers. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinhsaid he felt the youthfulness, enthusiasm, dedication, as well as being inspired by the strong and fresh energy of the students, "feeling like reliving my vibrant and enthusiastic student days".
The two Prime Ministers were moved to receive the warm and joyful welcome from students of the Foreign Trade University.
Speaking about the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship, the Prime Minister stated: "Drinking from the same Mekong River, Vietnam and Cambodia are two close neighbors with a long-standing traditional relationship. The two peoples have united, shared and supported each other in times of difficulty and adversity, together overcoming many ups and downs of history." The Prime Minister reviewed the history of the two countries and affirmed the truth of "must be united and unified". Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reiterated his sharing with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in the exchange on December 11 that: "Even if we do not love each other, are not united, we will not be able to move anywhere. So in the end, we must unite, love, respect each other and develop together, win together. That is the objective law." The Head of Government advised the younger generation with the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" to always remember and be deeply grateful for the great contributions of the generations of leaders and people of the two countries, especially the heroic sacrifices of the heroic martyrs of Vietnam and Cambodia. On a special and solid foundation, the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia has continuously developed strongly in many fields. In education, the Prime Minister said that about 3,000 Cambodian students studying in Vietnam "are the bridges and glue" of the relationship between the two countries. The Prime Minister thanked the Cambodian Government and people for always trusting and choosing Vietnam as one of the leading destinations and partners in training and improving the quality of Cambodia's human resources.
The Prime Minister asked Vietnamese and Cambodian students to study hard, support each other in life, and cultivate good friendships.

He said that in Cambodia, there are also a number of Vietnamese students studying, and the connection of education between the two countries is important. Emphasizing the role of education, he said that "without health, without knowledge, without capacity, the country cannot develop". According to the Cambodian Prime Minister, during the Covid 19 pandemic, trade between the two countries continued to increase, with an average annual growth of 25% (2017-2022). Regarding investment, Vietnam has invested in many fields, making an important contribution to job creation and the overall development of Cambodia. By 2023, the total investment capital of Vietnam and Cambodia had reached 22.6 billion USD. Mr. Hun Manet was also pleased with the people-to-people exchange between the two countries, especially in tourism, with Vietnamese tourists to Cambodia ranking second. "Vietnam has many options for development in the context of many changes in the world economy. Cambodia always considers Vietnam a very important connection and exit for the development of international trade as well as increasingly strong connections in the global value chain," the Cambodian Prime Minister said.
