Prime Minister meets with leading private enterprises to discuss solutions to promote economic growth

On the morning of February 10, the Government Standing Committee met with businesses to discuss tasks and solutions for private enterprises to accelerate and make breakthroughs, contributing to the country's rapid and sustainable development in the new era.

This is the first meeting of the Government Standing Committee with businesses in the new spring of 2025.

Not only encouraging and motivating the contributions of the business community, the Government Standing Committee, ministries and branches also listen, share and discuss with businesses to remove difficulties and obstacles as well as discuss tasks and solutions for private businesses to develop more strongly.

Removing the “bottleneck of the bottleneck”

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of General Secretary To Lam and leaders of the Party and State, sent respectful greetings, warm regards, and best wishes to businesses.

He pointed out that we have entered the final year of the 13th Party Congress, a difficult period affecting the socio-economic situation, political security and national defense.

Especially in 2024, there will be many political fluctuations and strategic competition affecting national development and business operations.

In early 2025, the world has encountered difficulties and complexities, so businesses need to always be mentally prepared.

The Government always shares with businesses, affirming that it will always accompany and help remove difficulties, especially institutional problems that are "bottlenecks of bottlenecks", but also "breakthroughs of breakthroughs".

This is even more meaningful when the Government assigns growth targets to all localities, relevant ministries, and state-owned enterprises to achieve a target of 8% or more.

According to the Prime Minister, "average" growth cannot achieve the two 100-year development goals. In the coming years, double-digit growth must be achieved, so according to the Central Government's request, GDP this year must reach 8%.

The Head of Government pointed out the meeting with banks, small and medium enterprises, businesses from Europe, Japan, Korea, the US, China, etc. to share about the difficulties and obstacles in institutional policies and guidelines.

From there, listen to the opinions of businesses, especially problems related to land, licenses, and documents. The Government directs ministries, branches, and localities, directly ministers and heads of agencies, to report monthly on legal problems to resolve them, and then report to the National Assembly for amendments.

For example, the issue of exemption of registration tax for automobile manufacturing enterprises, exemption of VAT for enterprises, reduction of land rent, water surface rent, reduction of fees and charges; solving issues related to planning, land, procedures, licenses; carefully analyzing, evaluating and responding to the situation, responding to bad scenarios.

What can businesses do for the country? Please register and propose.

The Prime Minister hopes that from practice, experience and success, businesses will contribute ideas to the country for solutions, especially pointing out difficulties in institutions and administrative procedures, including pointing out negative phenomena.

The Head of Government also suggested that in the above-mentioned major tasks of the country, businesses should register to do whatever they can and propose policies and mechanisms to do it, as long as they do not seek personal gain and prevent corruption and negativity.

Recently, the Prime Minister requested Truong Hai Group (THACO) to research, transfer technology, produce train cars and move towards producing locomotives for high-speed railways; Hoa Phat Group to make high-speed railway rails; FPT Group to focus on training high-quality human resources, designing semiconductor chips, etc.

Recognizing the difficult and challenging situation, the Prime Minister hopes that business leaders will use their practical experience and success, with passion, enthusiasm, and dedication, and boldly contribute their opinions with sincerity and frankness, all for the development of the country, for the Fatherland, and for the prosperity and happiness of the people.
