On the afternoon of February 5, in the atmosphere of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 and also on the occasion of the upcoming 78th anniversary of the Tradition Day of the Traffic Police Force (February 21, 1946 - February 21, 2024), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) and wished a Happy New Year and encouraged officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Force nationwide. Also attending were General To Lam - Minister of Public Security, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Government Office.
The event was held online at the headquarters of the Traffic Police Department, connecting to the bridge points at the police headquarters of districts, towns, cities and provinces and centrally run cities across the country.
The whole society supports strict punishment of traffic violations.
Reporting to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation, Director of the Traffic Police Department Nguyen Van Trung said that in 2023, implementing the direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Traffic Police force has advised on the issuance of relevant documents to ensure traffic order and safety.
The entire Traffic Police force has innovated its thinking, awareness and approach to functions and tasks, and has made changes; at the same time, it has gained the consensus and support of the whole society, especially in handling oversized, overloaded vehicles, vehicles with extended cargo compartments; handling violations of alcohol concentration, speeding, lane encroachment, running red lights, etc.
In 2024, the Traffic Police force will strive and be determined to complete its tasks excellently. In the immediate future, to ensure traffic order and safety and participate in protecting the activities of Party and State leaders and the people's Spring and New Year activities, the Traffic Police force will continue to maintain maximum force to best ensure the situation, deploy patrols, control, and handle violations 24/7, with the spirit of focusing on strictly handling violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents.
In particular, continue to strengthen drastic control and resolutely handle violations of alcohol concentration according to the motto of 3 no's: "No forbidden zones - no exceptions - no holidays"; do not allow prolonged traffic jams, illegal racing, especially serious traffic accidents and effectively fight against all types of crimes operating on traffic routes; arrange regular traffic police forces on traffic routes to support and help people, with the spirit of "when people need it, traffic police are there, where people are in need, traffic police are there".
Speaking to encourage officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the Traffic Police force for being ready to implement solutions to ensure traffic order and safety, serving the people's spring activities and welcoming the Lunar New Year 2024.
The Prime Minister said that in recent times, despite many difficulties and challenges, the work of ensuring social order and safety, including traffic order and safety, has basically achieved many outstanding results, contributing to maintaining a stable and favorable environment for development.
To achieve the above results, the People's Public Security force has worked hard, silently made efforts, overcome difficulties and challenges, "forgetting themselves for the country, serving the people"; ready to sacrifice for the Fatherland, for the peace and happiness of the people; there are traffic police who sacrificed and were injured while on duty.
The Prime Minister expressed his condolences and deep gratitude to the families, relatives and units of the martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers in the Traffic Police force. At the same time, he requested the Public Security and Traffic Police to take good care of the rear work and policies in the force, especially when Tet and Spring come.
According to the Prime Minister, the force has taken people as the center, the subject, the goal, the driving force, and the resource in ensuring traffic order and safety; deployed new professional methods of operation, including promoting digital transformation, applying science and technology, information technology, intelligence, data connection, especially in managing vehicles participating in traffic, patrolling and controlling, handling violations, commanding and controlling traffic, and preventing and fighting crimes...
The Traffic Police force correctly identified and had solutions to control and resolutely handle violations that are the direct causes of traffic accidents, creating a clear change in the whole society and people's awareness of law compliance; in particular, the force has innovated in State management in assigned areas such as organizing auctions of car license plates; strengthening the implementation of measures, controlling and strictly handling violations of alcohol concentration when driving vehicles in traffic.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the Traffic Police force for ensuring traffic order and safety, leading delegations of Party and State leaders, domestic and international delegations to visit and work in Vietnam, ensuring absolute safety and smoothness. At the same time, innovating the management and registration of vehicles; building a good image of the Traffic Police force in the hearts of the people.
"There are many examples of traffic police officers and soldiers being close to the people, helping people in difficulty on the road, during the flood season..., leaving deep feelings in the hearts of the people," the Prime Minister noted.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested the Traffic Police force to pay attention to building a clean and strong Party, improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and Party members; building exemplary, resolute, and pure Traffic Police officers and maintaining prestige and the image of People's Public Security soldiers in performing their duties.
"The Traffic Police force must be the core force in ensuring traffic order and safety, but it is necessary to change the state from "control" to increasing guidance, assistance, and creating conditions for people to participate in traffic safely and conveniently," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister especially noted that during the Lunar New Year, the Traffic Police force must organize well patrols, control, and strictly handle violations; coordinate with functional forces to ensure safety in passenger transportation; help and support people in difficulty; avoid traffic jams, promptly resolve incidents and traffic accidents; at the same time, effectively prevent and combat all types of crimes; promptly stop illegal racing; contribute to everyone having a joyful, healthy, safe, economical, and affectionate New Year.
