Within the framework of his official visit to Hungary, on the morning of January 19 in Budapest, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly Jakab István.

Welcoming the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Hungary, the Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly affirmed that the visit is an important event, contributing to further strengthening the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Vice President of the National Assembly Jakab István expressed his impression of the socio-economic achievements that Vietnam has made in recent times as well as the country's increasing role and position in the international arena; affirming that Vietnam is always a priority partner in Hungary's "Look East" policy.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the Hungarian National Assembly leaders and parliamentarians for the warm and sincere welcome given to the delegation.

Appreciating Hungary's consideration of Vietnam as a priority partner in Southeast Asia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Hungary.

Announcing the results of the talks between the two Prime Ministers, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the Hungarian National Assembly to support and assist the governments of the two countries in implementing important cooperation agreements that the two sides reached during the visit in all fields of politics, economics - trade - investment, education - training, culture, science - technology, labor, etc.

The two sides expressed their delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations, especially in politics and diplomacy, through all Party, State and National Assembly channels.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the dynamic development in cooperation between the two National Assemblies in recent times with regular delegation exchanges between leaders of the National Assembly, committees and the two friendship parliamentary groups; welcomed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two National Assemblies during the visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Hungary in June 2022.

The two sides agreed to continue to increase delegation exchanges between the two National Assemblies; further promote the bridging role of the Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups of the two countries; and closely coordinate at inter-parliamentary forums.

Emphasizing the importance of economic-trade-investment cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly Jakab István agreed to promote economic cooperation commensurate with the good traditional friendship between the two countries, through enhancing cooperation in traditional fields such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food processing while enhancing cooperation in new potential fields such as green transformation, digital transformation, circular economy, innovation, etc.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sincerely thanked the Hungarian National Assembly for being the first parliament in the European Union (EU) to ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and asked the Hungarian National Assembly to urge the parliaments of the remaining EU countries to soon ratify this agreement as well as support the European Commission (EC) to soon lift the IUU yellow card for Vietnamese seafood.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the Hungarian National Assembly and authorities at all levels for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate and live stably in Hungary.

Vice President of the National Assembly Jakab István appreciated the Vietnamese community for being hard-working, diligent, and making positive contributions to the local socio-economy. He also affirmed that he will continue to support the Vietnamese community to promote its role most effectively, continuing to be a bridge to develop the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.
