On October 20, continuing activities within the framework of his visit to Saudi Arabia and attending the ASEAN-GCC Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prince and Deputy Prime Minister of Oman Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said.

At the meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Qatar's determination in implementing the National Strategy "Vision 2030".

The Prime Minister affirmed that he attaches importance to the cooperative relationship with Qatar, an important partner of Vietnam in the Middle East, and expressed his wish to welcome the Emir of Qatar to visit Vietnam in November 2023 to promote cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade, investment and labor.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that the two countries still have a lot of potential for cooperation, especially in the field of investment. Accordingly, Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for Qatari enterprises and investment funds, especially the Qatar Public Investment Fund, to increase investment in Vietnam in many diverse forms.

The Emir of Qatar highly appreciated the role and position of Vietnam and affirmed that there is no limit to cooperation between the two countries, ready to coordinate to handle all difficulties and remove all barriers to further strengthen the Vietnam-Qatar cooperation relationship, especially in the field of investment as suggested by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

On that basis, the two sides agreed to soon establish joint working groups in potential areas between the two countries such as digital transformation, renewable energy, infrastructure and sign documents to facilitate the entry of citizens of the two countries to promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time.

At the meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the UAE on its achievements in foreign affairs and economic development, contributing to peace and stability in the region and the world.

To enhance cooperation between the two countries in the coming time, the Prime Minister suggested that both sides promote delegation exchanges, especially high-level delegations, and promote cultural and tourism exchanges.

Emphasizing that the UAE is managing public investment funds with huge resources, the Prime Minister expressed his wish that UAE investment funds increase investment in areas of Vietnam's need such as green transformation, digital transformation, and circular economy.

The UAE President affirmed his priority in promoting and bringing comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam to new heights, saying he would direct UAE investment funds to actively explore opportunities to participate in investment projects in Vietnam.

On this occasion, the two sides agreed to speed up negotiations, soon sign the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), strengthen cooperation in potential areas such as digital transformation, data center construction, innovation, science and technology, and study and sign cooperation documents in the field of ensuring food security.

Receiving His Highness, Deputy Prime Minister of Oman Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the results of cooperation between Vietnam and Oman in recent times, emphasized the success of the Vietnam-Oman Joint Investment Fund (VOI) as a typical model for investment cooperation between Vietnam and Gulf countries and suggested that the Fund continue to consider expanding its operations in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to increase delegation exchanges at all levels and improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the Joint Committee and Political Consultation to deepen and make bilateral relations more effective.

In addition, the Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides continue to promote cooperation in the field of trade, creating conditions for goods and services to access each other's markets, and soon bring bilateral turnover to a breakthrough growth.

His Highness, Deputy Prime Minister of Oman Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said affirmed that the Government of Oman always attaches importance to further promoting all-round cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the fields of economy and investment.

The Prince and Deputy Prime Minister agreed to create favorable conditions and consider opening the market for each country's strong goods, promote cooperation in the Halal sector, and improve the operational efficiency of the Vietnam-Oman Joint Investment Fund (VOI). The two sides also agreed to expand cooperation in education and enhance exchanges between young generations.
