On the evening of October 12, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department and the Steering Committee for External Information Work chaired and coordinated with Vietnam News Agency and relevant ministries, departments and branches to organize the 9th National External Information Awards Ceremony.
The award ceremony was attended by Party and State leaders: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work Nguyen Trong Nghia.
Comrades, members of the Party Central Committee; leaders of ministries, departments, branches, and central organizations; embassies; international organizations in Vietnam; and award-winning authors.
The award ceremony was broadcast live on VTV1, Vietnam Television.
The 9th National Award for External Information is an award launched by the Steering Committee for External Information Work, chaired by the Central Propaganda Department (the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for External Information Work), in coordination with the Central External Affairs Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Publishing Association.
The 9th National Award for Foreign Information was held to honor authors and groups of authors with outstanding works and products in the field of foreign information; continuing to affirm that foreign information is an important part of the Party's ideological and foreign affairs work.
The 9th National Award for External Information in 2023 recorded the highest number of participating works and products ever (an increase of 30% compared to the previous award); with 1,456 works and products participating in the vote in 10 categories (Vietnamese printed newspaper; Vietnamese electronic newspaper; foreign printed newspaper; foreign electronic newspaper; radio; television; photos; books; video clips; initiatives and products with foreign information value).
The works and products focus on information about the Party and State's guidelines, policies and strategies; the country's achievements in the fields of politics, economics, foreign affairs, human rights; the beauty of the country, people, and cultural values of Vietnam; protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against the distorted arguments of hostile forces on issues of democracy and human rights...
Works and products by foreigners mainly focus on analyzing Vietnam's foreign policy; Vietnam's role and position in the international arena, socio-economic development situation; people-to-people exchange activities, etc., demonstrating deep understanding and affection for the country and people of Vietnam, contributing to creating a positive flow of international public opinion about Vietnam.
In general, the quality of the works and products participating in the 9th National Award for Foreign Information is higher than before. The topics are diverse and rich; the way of expression is more innovative and attractive. Many works are invested in elaborately, the application documents are serious and neat... the composition of authors/groups of authors is diverse, many authors are foreigners.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 110 works and products; including 8 First prizes, 22 Second prizes, 30 Third prizes and 50 Encouragement prizes.
Nghe An Newspaper has the work "Nghe An Health Services accompanies and supports Xieng Khouang Health Services" by the group of authors: Nguyen Thanh Chung, Nguyen Ky Duc Anh and Nguyen Thi Diep Thanh was awarded the Encouragement Prize./.
