On August 1, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen sent a letter of thanks to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

In the letter, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen stated: "On behalf of the Cambodian People's Party and in his personal capacity, Prime Minister Hun Sen thanks General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for congratulating the Cambodian People's Party on its victory in the election of the 7th National Assembly on July 23."

Prime Minister Hun Sen also expressed his delight at the close, long-standing relationship and close cooperation between the two sides that has always been consolidated and developed in all fields, in the spirit of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability”.

Cambodian People's Party President Samdech Techo Hun Sen also thanked Vietnam for its continued support for Cambodia's development and reaffirmed Cambodia's determination to strengthen the good relations between the two Parties, Governments and peoples for the common interests of the two nations. Prime Minister Hun Sen affirmed that he will continue to work closely with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to promote the good relations and effective cooperation between the two countries to new heights.
