Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang visits Vietnamese people in Cambodia

During the working program in Cambodia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation led by Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, visited Vietnamese people and classes on Tonle Sap Lake in Kampong Chhnang and Battambang provinces (Cambodia) and attended the 10th Anniversary Ceremony of the establishment of the Executive Committee of the Khmer - Vietnamese Association in Siem Reap province.

On December 1, during meetings with people living in the resettlement area in Kampong Tralach district, Kampong Chhang province, after listening to their thoughts and feelings, the Deputy Minister shared the difficulties and challenges they faced in their new living environment; highly appreciated their efforts to change their careers.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that people need to raise awareness and have the will to improve their lives. Participating in career conversion programs is an opportunity for people to have a stable income, ensure their lives, and provide education for their children, which is the foundation for a better future. People need to consider their new workplace as their new home and stay with businesses for a long time.

The Deputy Minister noted that people need to strictly comply with the laws and policies of the host country, especially regulations related to registration and renewal of foreign permanent residence cards. The Deputy Minister also asked people to proactively adapt to the new life and pay attention to their children's education.

On the morning of December 3, the delegation visited the people and classes on Tonle Sap Lake in the floating village of Kbal Tao, Battambang province. Here, the Deputy Minister kindly asked about and respectfully thanked the teachers for their work towards the students currently living on Tonle Sap Lake, and shared the common difficulties of the Vietnamese people and teachers, students and students living and studying on Tonle Sap Lake.

On this occasion, the delegation also gave gifts to teachers; books and school supplies to students here.

On the same afternoon, the delegation attended the 10th Anniversary Ceremony of the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Siem Reap Province. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang warmly congratulated and praised the great achievements of the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Siem Reap Province over the past 10 years; wished the Association to grow stronger and stronger, to be a support for the Vietnamese people in Siem Reap to develop and a bridge to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The Deputy Minister suggested that the Association's leaders continue to improve the organization, enhance the capacity of the Association's Executive Committee at all levels, build an increasingly developed community, actively contribute to the economic and social life of Cambodia, and at the same time focus on building the homeland.

Along with that, strengthen relations and coordinate with functional forces and Cambodian authorities to support the work of resolving legal status, career conversion, and stabilizing life to help people improve their lives and integrate into the local society.
