Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs works in Kon Tum province

On the afternoon of October 29, the working delegation of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi worked with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Social Insurance of Kon Tum province to assess the implementation of labor, meritorious people and social affairs in the first 10 months of 2024.

In recent times, the province has paid attention to labor, employment, and social security, and has promoted implementation and achieved many positive results. In 10 months, the province has paid policies to nearly 5,000 meritorious people with a budget of more than 14 billion VND; organized visits and presented more than 18,370 gifts to meritorious people on holidays and Tet; supported electricity bills for more than 16,260 poor households and policy households with a budget of more than 10.3 billion VND; provided vocational training and created jobs for more than 6,300 workers, reaching over 97% of the assigned plan. To date, the province has over 61,960 people participating in social insurance and over 35,690 people participating in unemployment insurance. In implementing labor, employment, and social security work, the locality encountered some difficulties in implementing the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction due to problems with the central mechanism; the work of mobilizing drug addiction treatment and managing this group of people was quite difficult because the province did not have any drug addiction treatment facilities...

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Social Insurance of Kon Tum province in implementing labor, employment, and ensuring social security; requested that in the coming time, agencies and units continue to effectively implement all aspects of work and tasks for 2024; in which, focusing on fully and promptly implementing policies for people with meritorious services, poor households, social protection beneficiaries and workers in the province, especially choosing a form of subsidy payment suitable to local realities. Regarding the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi requested the department to further promote the effectiveness of the hotline to ensure child care and protection; pay attention to disbursement of funds for vocational education and prepare a good plan to take care of the 2025 Tet holiday for poor households and people with meritorious services. Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hoi hopes that the provincial Social Insurance will continue to closely follow the direction and orientation of the central government and the province to achieve the targets of health insurance and social insurance coverage; promote the application of information technology in performing assigned tasks./.
