According to the police, the sport of Pickleball is currently attracting the attention of many people. Taking advantage of this, some people have created Facebook pages called “Vietnam Pickleball Federation” to find ways to defraud and appropriate the property of people who register to learn how to play Pickleball.
To carry out the scam, when people register to join the course through the Facebook page "Vietnam Pickleball Federation", the subjects ask them to download the Telegram application to be guided by "experts" to participate in a number of tasks to confirm sports equipment and reduce tuition fees.
After a few low-value tasks, the subjects ask people to perform high-value tasks. At this time, using many excuses. If the player performs the syntax incorrectly, the subjects ask them to do it again many times or transfer more money to withdraw all the transferred money.
When the amount of money transferred is hundreds of millions, even billions of dong, the subjects will disconnect and delete the chat group on the Telegram application.
To avoid being scammed, Hanoi City Police recommend that people be vigilant when registering for Pickleball classes as well as other sports advertised on social networks.
