Highlights in Nghe An on August 19

* On the morning of August 19, on the occasion of the 82nd death anniversary of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - former Secretary of the Saigon - Cho Lon City Party Committee (July 4, 1941 - July 4, 2023 lunar calendar), Nghe An Relic Management Board held a flower and incense offering ceremony at the comrade's Memorial House.

The delegates expressed their sincere respect and infinite gratitude for the great contributions of an outstanding son of Nghe An, an excellent student of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh , who sacrificed his whole life for the Fatherland; Praying for his soul to rest in eternal peace, to be liberated, to bless the country with peace and prosperity, the people with prosperity and happiness, and for Nghe An province to develop and prosper.

* On August 19, in Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town, the Youth Union of Nghe An Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Youth Unions of units and schools to organize the program "I love my Fatherland", presenting national flags and gifts to fishermen in Cua Lo town.

The Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command and its coordinating units presented 800 national flags; 130 life jackets; 10 bicycles and 20 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND) to policy families and fishing households in difficult circumstances in Cua Lo town. In addition, the program also included the following contents: Propaganda on the Law on Sea and Islands; Medical examination, treatment and medicine distribution for fishermen; Launching a campaign to clean up the marine environment...

* On the morning of August 19, at the Vietnam - Germany College, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held the Opening Ceremony of the Contest "Startup Ideas for VocationalEducation Students in Nghe An Province in 2023". This year's contest had 25 projects by 75 authors and groups of authors, with 33 instructors. These were excellent projects selected from 80 projects by 200 authors/groups of authors in grassroots competitions.

* On August 19, the Nghe An Association in Hai Phong coordinated with the Red Cross, local authorities and Party committees of Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong districts to organize a charity program with the theme "Journey with children to school". In Hung Tien commune (Nam Dan) and Thanh Huong commune (Thanh Chuong), the Liaison Committee of the Nghe An Association in Hai Phong presented 11 bicycles and 27 gifts (each worth from 1 million to 1.5 million VND) to disadvantaged students in the area. The total value of the program was nearly 50 million VND.

* On August 19, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 6976/UBND-NC on implementing a plan to ensure traffic order and safety for the 2023 "Ve mien vi, giam" Marathon.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Police to direct the implementation of the Traffic Safety Plan; direct the local police and units to arrange forces and vehicles to block at intersections with the routes where the tournament is held; guide traffic flow for vehicles and people to ensure traffic order and safety.
