Unifying the scale and location of 2 Northern Expressway rest stops

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien has just signed a document to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board on the unification of the scale of investment locations for the construction of rest stops serving the North-South expressway projects, Van Ninh - Cam Lo and Cam Lo - La Son sections through Quang Tri province.

Accordingly, the rest stop of the North-South expressway project in the East through Quang Tri province will be built at Km725+500 (route of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway component project, in Linh Truong commune, Gio Linh district) and at Km36+500 (route of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway component project, in Hai Chanh commune, Hai Lang district).

Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee also requested the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to provide documents and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities of the province to update planning, land use plans and implement the next steps according to regulations.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board sent a document to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to agree on the scale, location and provide documents for registering land use needs in 2024 to invest in building rest stops to serve the Van Ninh - Cam Lo and Cam Lo - La Son component projects, to submit to competent authorities for approval of information on the rest stop project.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, based on the proposal of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province on adjusting the location of the rest stop on the North-South expressway, the eastern section through Quang Tri, the Ministry of Transport has agreed in principle on the investment location for the construction of the rest stop on the Cam Lo - La Son expressway, section Km 36+500, in Hai Chanh commune, Hai Lang district.

One of the sections of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway project through Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province is under construction.

In terms of scale, the rest stop of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo component project of the North - South expressway in the East is planned at location 725 + 500 (Linh Truong commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) with a scale of 5 hectares/side.

The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has organized the preparation of a proposal for the investment project to operate the above-mentioned rest stops with a scale of about 5 hectares per station (including a preliminary design document showing the scale and location of the rest stops) to submit to the Vietnam Expressway Administration for approval, but there is no unified document on the scale from the People's Committee of Quang Tri province.

Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board requests the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to consider and unify the scale and location of the above rest stops; direct relevant departments, branches and localities to study, supplement and adjust the land use planning of Hai Lang and Gio Linh districts in a timely manner.

After the project information is officially approved, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board will continue to update and supplement relevant and legal documents for the local presiding agency to update.

To carry out site clearance work according to regulations and meet progress requirements, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has also added an appendix to register the list of works and projects in the 2024 land use plan in Hai Lang district and Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province.

The North-South expressway component project, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section through Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces, has a total route length of 65.54km, of which the section through Quang Tri province is about 32.53km long, passing through Vinh Linh, Gio Linh districts and Cam Lo district.

The Cam Lo - La Son component project through Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces has a total length of more than 98km, of which the section through Quang Tri province is more than 36km long, passing through Cam Lo district, Dong Ha city, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri town and Hai Lang district.
