On December 13, Spotv News (Korea) reported that the Korean police have decided to close the investigation into singer G-Dragon's use of illegal drugs. Specifically, the Incheon Police Department (Korea) has no intention of transferring G-Dragon's case to the prosecution when the male artist received a negative drug test result.

A representative from the investigation agency said that they did not find any signs that G-Dragon used illegal substances during the process of collecting statements from 6 individuals. The representative of the investigation agency also emphasized: "We plan to make a final conclusion on G-Dragon's case by the end of December."

During the interrogation, the female manager of the entertainment establishment revealed G-Dragon's name. Preliminary investigation results showed that G-Dragon was suspected of using opium, heroin, cocaine and a mixture of these substances.

Within 2 days of the news being published, many negative articles about the male singer appeared in the Korean media. Many Korean news sites also continuously "dissected" and provided evidence that G-Dragon may have used illegal substances. However, these articles have now been completely removed.

On October 27, when G-Dragon denied using illegal substances, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho also revealed that the male singer did not know about the prosecution and only received the news through newspaper articles. This information caused the Korean public to change their minds and express support for G-Dragon.

On November 6, the male singer volunteered to appear at the police station to give a statement and provide a sample for testing. The results of the test on G-Dragon’s hair, fingernails, and toenails all came back negative. The forensic agency also confirmed that the male singer, born in 1988, had not dyed or bleached his hair recently.

At the end of November, the Drug Crime Investigation Team of the Incheon Police Department (South Korea) decided to lift the exit ban on Big Bang members.

On November 25, a female manager of an entertainment facility in Korea suddenly changed her testimony and affirmed that she had never seen a member of Big Bang using drugs.

The statements of the investigation agency recently have angered the Korean public. They believe that the police's slow response has caused the male idol to suffer losses. They also do not support the Korean media reporting news without carefully censoring the source of information.

G-Dragon (born 1988) is a member of the Big Bang group and an influential star in the Korean youth music scene. In nearly 20 years of artistic activities, he has achieved many achievements with the Big Bang group and made his personal mark in music and fashion.

Despite being cleared, G-Dragon still suffered a lot of damage from this lawsuit. According to Korean media, the famous singer may face fines from brands after the scandal.

An entertainment industry expert told Newis that the 8X generation idol star is expected to pay 2-3 times more than the initial salary even if he is proven innocent.

G-Dragon is currently an ambassador for a beverage brand, BMW, and Chanel. If all three brands simultaneously demand G-Dragon to pay compensation for his contract, the male artist will face the risk of having to pay a total fine of up to 50 billion won (about 936 billion VND).
