(NLDO)- After Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung was appointed Deputy Minister, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director, was assigned to run the Hanoi City Police Department.

On the afternoon of March 1, at the Hanoi Police Department, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision and the Minister of Public Security's Decision on personnel work. Attending the ceremony was Senior General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security.

At the ceremony, General Luong Tam Quang announced Decision No. 397/QD-TTg dated February 25, 2025, of the Prime Minister appointing Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of Hanoi City Police, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Also at the ceremony, Major General Pham Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Public Security, announced the Decision of the Minister of Public Security on assigning Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, to run the city police.

The Minister of Public Security emphasized that Mr. Nguyen Hai Trung is a well-trained officer with many years of experience in the public security sector, having held many leadership positions in units under the Ministry of Public Security and local public security before being appointed Deputy Minister by the Prime Minister. Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung is a capable person with good expertise, leadership experience, and is trusted by the leadership team.

In the context of the entire political system urgently implementing the streamlining of the apparatus under the direction of General Secretary To Lam, the Prime Minister's transfer and appointment of Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung to the position of Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is a great honor for the Ministry of Public Security, the City Police as well as his family and Mr. Nguyen Hai Trung himself. Deputy Minister Nguyen Hai Trung (born in 1968; hometown, Lap Thach district, Vinh Phuc province), professional qualifications: PhD in State management of security and order, Master of Law, Bachelor of Criminal Investigation. He used to hold the position of Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Public Security. On April 1, 2016, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Director General of the General Department of Politics of the People's Public Security, Ministry of Public Security.

On August 21, 2018, Mr. Nguyen Hai Trung was appointed to the position of Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police. Two years later, Mr. Nguyen Hai Trung was transferred by the Ministry of Public Security to the Ministry to assume the position of permanent deputy head of the Central Public Security Party Committee's Inspection Commission; head of the Central Public Security Party Committee's Inspection Commission.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung has been the Director of Hanoi City Police since July 2020, and is a member of the 15th National Assembly and a member of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee.
