In addition, he also had a total score of 28.55 for block A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) and 27.55 for block B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology). Luong Huy said that when he got the answer, he calculated the score but only thought he was the second best.

"I had to review my scores several times to confirm. I'm very happy to be the valedictorian. I spend about 10 hours a day studying, and I study more when the exam is near. In my free time, I like to be curious about making handicrafts and am passionate about things related to technology," Luong Huy shared.

In the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test, Luong Huy scored 1,047/1,200. With that score, Luong Huy was qualified to be admitted to the University of Science and Technology, Foreign Trade University and the University of Economics and Law.

"Although I have enough points to pass my favorite major, I still set a goal to pass this exam in the best way possible. At night, I often study at home. For me, sending me to study far away from home like that would be very expensive, so I have to try to study well to not disappoint my parents," Luong Huy shared.

Huy said he had registered for the mechatronics and foreign economics majors. However, Huy still preferred the mechatronics major, but would consider it before making a final decision.

Luong Huy is from Long Khanh City, Dong Nai Province. In 10th grade, Huy attended Nguyen Khuyen Secondary and High School, Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Huynh Thi My Trang, Luong Huy's mother, said that sending her child to study far away is a huge challenge for the family.

"At first, I cried all the time. In 10th and 11th grade, my child had weekends off to visit home. But in 12th grade, he only had one month off. There were times when I missed him, but because I was afraid he would worry, I always encouraged him to try harder and didn't dare let him see me cry. My biggest fear was being away from home and making him worry, so he wouldn't be able to concentrate on studying," Ms. Trang confided.

"In grade 11, I studied on my own and took the IELTS 7.5 exam. To celebrate, my family plans to hold a small party and invite relatives to join in the fun," Ms. Trang shared.

Talking about Luong Huy, teacher Trinh Van Tuyen, homeroom teacher of class 12A3, Nguyen Khuyen Secondary - High School (HCMC) is very proud that the school has a student who is the valedictorian.

"I am really impressed with Huy. He is good at all subjects, especially English. Huy is a proactive learner and also actively participates in school activities. Although he is a boarding student, far from his family, Huy is very brave. I see that he is sociable and happy with teachers and friends," said Mr. Tuyen.

Mr. Tuyen said that the school will definitely organize an award ceremony for students with high achievements in the 2023 high school exam, especially for Luong Huy.
