According to Mr. Truong Hien Phuong - Senior Director of KIS Vietnam Securities Joint Stock Company, the stock market just had an exciting trading session when the VN-Index officially reached the 1,300 point mark.

The reason for this increase is that the market has been accumulating for a long time, and the net selling momentum of foreign investors has also decreased significantly in recent trading sessions. Cash flow from institutional investors, self-employed investors, and domestic investors has also been accumulating and waiting for opportunities for quite a long time. When seeing opportunities, the market predicts that it will be better in the future, so they increase their buying.

Along with that, one of the factors affecting investor psychology is the issue of exchange rates and gold prices. The intervention of the Government as well as the State Bank is creating conditions for exchange rates and gold prices to gradually stabilize.

Mr. Phuong said that investors are currently somewhat concerned if US inflation remains high and the US Federal Reserve (Fed) maintains high interest rates and shows no signs of lowering interest rates. However, there is also a lot of positive information supporting the stock market such as economic recovery, better business results reports for the second quarter of the year. According to Vietnamese business culture, business results will gradually increase and there will be more positive information in the last quarters of the year.

“If there are not many unpredictable unexpected factors, I think the stock market will have a good trend and will gradually improve in the last months of the year.
