Ms. Ha Thi Giang takes attendance and encourages students at the exam site of Tran Van On Secondary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City)
At the Tran Van On Secondary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) exam site, throughout the 3 days of the 2024 high school graduation exam, teachers from the Asia International School were present right in front of the school gate to take attendance of students, check their belongings, and then give instructions on what to pay attention to. According to Ms. Ha Thi Giang, a teacher at the school, this is a voluntary activity that teachers have carried out annually since the school was founded, with the participation of the entire board of directors.
The reason for maintaining this tradition, according to Ms. Giang, is to minimize and promptly handle rare incidents such as candidates oversleeping, arriving late or not bringing enough necessary items... In addition, being present at this important moment also helps to reassure and encourage students, helping them to be more confident and steadfast. "My students did quite well on the exam, especially in literature because they had reviewed thoroughly," the female teacher shared.
Working at the same school, Ms. Truong Thi Thuong added that teachers not only check personal documents but also "check" items carefully to avoid students accidentally bringing some prohibited items, such as phones, smart watches or writing on the atlas. "In addition to this school, we are also present at two other testing sites, Duc Tri Secondary School and Ernst Thälmann High School, from the day of completing procedures until the end of this afternoon when the foreign language test is finished," Ms. Thuong said.
The teacher checked the students' Vietnam geography atlas to see if it was valid according to the exam regulations.
Encourage candidates before entering the exam room
At this testing site, along with teachers to support students, there is also a group of student volunteers to support the exam season. They not only give free drinks, food and many other items to candidates but also hold up signs with meaningful wishes.
At the Nguyen Du High School exam site, we also saw some exam preparation teachers present after the end of the combined exam period to cheer on their students. Van Phuc, a teaching assistant at a private educational organization based in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City, said the candidates he was waiting to meet were not only his students, but also his close friends.
"I have a lot of faith in you guys so I want to be here to visit and give you more motivation," Phuc shared.
A group of student volunteers stood in front of the exam room door cheering on the candidates.
"Sleep well, eat well, don't worry about anything", "12 years of studying, just a little bit but got 10", "Wish you good luck on your exam, your teammates are always by your side"... are the wishes sent to candidates in the past 2 days.
This afternoon, June 28, more than 1 million candidates have completed the foreign language exam, which is also the last subject in the 2024 high school graduation exam. The exam results are expected to be announced on July 17 and candidates can register and adjust their university admission wishes an unlimited number of times on the Ministry of Education and Training's common system from July 18 to 20. Before 5:00 p.m. on July 22, universities will announce the admission score on the common system and their own websites.
