As a result, contestant Le Hoang Nghi (born in 2003; candidate number 25; from Can Tho - scored 99.71 points) was awarded the 19th Golden Bell of Traditional Opera in 2024 - worth 100 million VND. This contestant was also awarded the prize voted by the Press Council - worth 20 million VND.
Attending and awarding prizes to the contestants with high scores in the final ranking round were leaders: Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Tang Huu Phong - Deputy Head of Propaganda Department of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
In the final ranking night, the contestants had to perform two parts: performing an excerpt from a reformed opera and drawing lots for a traditional song.
Le Hoang Nghi was born in 2003 and graduated from Can Tho College of Culture and Arts. Le Hoang Nghi is a student of Meritorious Artist Kieu My Dung and is currently active at the Ninh Kieu District Theater Club. He is one of the youngest contestants in the top 28 of the 2024 Golden Bell of Traditional Music Competition.
Le Hoang Nghi shared that he grew up in a family that loved Cai Luong. His father used to be in a troupe for a while but had to leave the profession due to circumstances, so perhaps he inherited some of the talent and passion from his family.
As a young person of the GenZ generation who is passionate about reformed opera, Le Hoang Nghi carries within himself a fire of enthusiasm and is very diligent in practicing.
He was highly appreciated by People's Artist Trong Phuc when he was young and knew how to study how to sing Cai Luong songs in the correct pentatonic rhythm, learning the way of vibrato, humming, breathing, and arranging sentences in songs of previous generations of talented artists.
Therefore, he has made a lot of progress during the 4-week competition of the 19th Golden Bell of Traditional Opera in 2024. "I hope you will be a second Vo Minh Lam, also born and raised in Can Tho, and strive to follow the profession, to continue the family tradition" - People's Artist Trong Phuc is happy that the 19th Golden Bell of Traditional Opera in 2024 has discovered a new talent for the Cai Luong stage.
Meritorious Artist Kieu My Dung commented that Le Hoang Nghi is passionate, hard-working and always progressive, currently studying at Can Tho City College of Culture and Arts. "She has a confident singing style, gentle and warm vibrato, and most importantly, she is always humble. I hope she will steadily progress, practice her skills and life experiences to make her vọng cổ songs and acting style more mature" - Meritorious Artist Kieu My Dung said.
Contestant Duong Thi My Nhung (99.58 points), a girl born in 1997 from An Giang, won the Silver Bell prize; Contestant Nguyen Hung Vuong (99.44 points) won the Bronze Bell prize.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 4 consolation prizes and the most favorite contestant prizes through each final night voted by the audience.
