Ms. Ha Thi Kim Dung - President of Vinh Phuc Education Trade Union recently visited and presented 100 million VND to support the construction of a house for teacher Nguyen Thi Huyen - a teacher at Dong Ich Kindergarten. Ms. Huyen is the second case to receive support from the Vinh Phuc Education and Training Department when the house of her and her children in Son Phung village, Van Quan commune, Lap Thach district is gradually being completed.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Huyen, 41 years old, has worked in the education sector for 12 years. Her husband passed away 15 years ago when her son was only 5 years old. Now, he is a 3rd year student at the University of Commerce.
According to the leader of Dong Ich Kindergarten, Ms. Huyen and her children used to live in a small house in the corner of the garden, next to the three-room house of her husband's parents. However, over the years, the small house has deteriorated and fallen into disrepair, so the mother and children moved in with her grandparents, who are old, weak, and have no pension.
Last year, knowing the policy of the industry with the movement of donating and supporting the construction of houses for teachers in especially difficult circumstances, having land but not being able to build a house, considering the conditions, she and the school, the Department of Education and Training implemented the proposed steps. After the industry's review and verification, she was selected as one of the first 5 teachers to receive support immediately after completing the new house.

Ms. Huyen shared: "I am very happy because I have been waiting for a long time but did not know when I would have the money to build a house. Thanks to this support, I am determined and decided to build a house even though I still have to borrow more money."
With Ms. Huyen's current income of 6 million VND/month, it is very difficult and tiring to cover the family's living expenses and raise her child to study at university in Hanoi. Ms. Vu Thi Xuan, Ms. Huyen's mother-in-law, said: "I am excited and very happy for her. I am very grateful to the Department of Education and Training because thanks to the attention and support of the Department, she now has her own house and we, her mother and I, can live close together without having to go far."
The new house has a construction area of about 70 square meters, a corrugated iron roof, and a construction cost of about 300 million VND, built on the land that Ms. Huyen's parents-in-law put in their name. The house was started in January 2023, but due to lack of money, the construction was slow and is now almost completed - she said.
At the support handover ceremony, the Vice Chairman of Van Quan Commune People's Committee shared that, in addition to the 100 million VND support for house construction from the Education sector, Ms. Huyen also received 40 million VND from the Provincial Labor Federation from the Fund for Poor Workers. In addition, the Commune People's Committee and Fatherland Front are continuing to mobilize and call for support for families with especially difficult housing circumstances in the commune in general, as well as Ms. Huyen's family in particular, so that the teacher can work with peace of mind and contribute to the local education sector.

The criteria for receiving financial support for house construction are that teachers have worked in the industry for 10 years or more, do not have a house or have a house but it is temporary, damaged, severely degraded, and do not have the ability to build/improve/repair. In addition, teachers must also commit to working and contributing long-term in the education and training industry. The maximum amount of 100 million VND will be awarded once, when the newly built house is basically completed.
Previously, in January 2023, teacher Nguyen Chi Thanh - Physical Education teacher, To Hieu Secondary School, Vinh Yen city became the first case to receive financial support for house construction from the industry.
