On the afternoon of January 17, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund (under the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union) held a press conference to announce the Enduring Passion Award. This is a sponsored and implemented award, aiming to honor the efforts to overcome difficulties and the perseverance in pursuing passion of the young generation of Vietnam.
In the context of globalization and rapid technological development, young Vietnamese people are facing many opportunities but also many challenges.
The Enduring Passion Award was created to encourage, motivate and accompany the young generation in their journey to overcome difficulties, persevere with their passion to realize their dreams and strive to become a better version of themselves. At the same time, it affirms the importance of passion and perseverance in achieving success.
“The Ben Dam Me Award continues to inherit that mission, while opening a new step forward, encouraging the spirit of dedication in essential fields. We believe that the award not only discovers more young talents but also motivates and empowers valuable projects, making practical contributions to the community and society, making an important contribution to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country,” said Mr. Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Director of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund.
The award focuses on 5 pillars: Passion - the driving force for development; Persistence - the key to success; Inspiring and spreading values; Contributing to the sustainable development of the country; Connecting the community and creating spreading power.
Dr. Truong Thanh Tung, Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face in the field of Scientific Research in 2022, shared that failure in scientific research is something that almost every scientist encounters. There are many reasons, but one of them is that when they are close to the final research step, they encounter a lack of funding - the previous funding fund runs out of money and they do not have the resources to continue pursuing.
“The establishment of a Ben Dam Me award to honor those who are always persistent and steadfast in their passion is a very practical thing to do. We can encourage, accompany them at the right time, and follow them to achieve meaningful results for the community,” Dr. Truong Thanh Tung shared.

Grandmaster Nguyen Thien Ngan (20 years old, Thai Nguyen), Promising Young Face of Vietnam in 2022, shared that he started pursuing his passion for chess at the age of 5, and has been doing so for 15 years now.
“Where I live, this sport is not focused on or invested much. Therefore, since the age of 6, with the support of my family, I took a bus to Hanoi to meet with instructors. Overcoming many obstacles, I have now achieved certain achievements in my field. But after that, I, like other athletes, always have the desire to conquer greater heights, to contribute more in that field and to society. Therefore, this award is very important in supporting us on this persistent journey,” shared Grandmaster Nguyen Thien Ngan.

The candidates are Vietnamese citizens aged 19 to 35, living and working in Vietnam, persistently pursuing their passion and bringing positive values and meanings to the community, in the fields of: Culture and Arts, Sports, Business - Startups, Social Activities.
Award selection criteria: General criteria and criteria for each field. General criteria include:
– Persistent pursuit of passion: at least 3 consecutive years in one field.
– Project characteristics: has practical significance in social life, has positive influence and inspiration, brings benefits to the community, has high practical applicability, is close to young people, a project that the general public can understand, sympathize, connect with and feel relevant to their lives...
– Project implementer: shows passion, perseverance, and tenacity to overcome many difficulties and pursue to the end, even though they may have failed…
Responding to the question of the Vietnam Women's Newspaper about the gender award structure, Mr. Phung Cong Suong said: "In recent years, the proportion of women who have won the Fund's awards has always been high, some years reaching 40%-50%. This shows that today's women have always strived, studied, trained, and matured in many fields. To continue those achievements, in this Award, we will definitely pay attention and support."
