According to the Ministry of Health's announcement on the Covid-19 epidemic, today, April 29, the country recorded 1,892 more Covid-19 cases. Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had nearly 11.56 million cases, ranking 13th out of 230 countries and territories. With a rate of 116,821 Covid-19 cases/million people, Vietnam ranks 121st out of 230 countries and territories.

According to reports from health departments, on April 28, 897 patients in provinces and cities were declared cured. Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 10.62 million Covid-19 patients in Vietnam have been cured.
At medical facilities, there are 122 patients on oxygen. Of these, 90 cases are on oxygen via mask, 8 cases are on high flow HFNC oxygen, and 24 cases are on invasive mechanical ventilation.

On April 28, no Covid-19 deaths were recorded. Since the beginning of the epidemic, there have been 43,188 deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths in our country ranks 26th out of 230 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 230 countries and territories.
Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, on April 28, more than 7,930 doses were injected. Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, more than 266.2 million doses have been injected to people nationwide. Of these, nearly 223.6 million doses were injected to people aged 18 and over, nearly 24 million doses were injected to children aged 12-17, and more than 18.66 million doses were injected to children aged 5-11.
According to the Ministry of Health, in April, a number of dangerous infectious diseases have recorded a sharp increase in the number of cases compared to the first 3 months of the year, such as Covid-19; dengue fever; hand, foot, and mouth disease. Currently, most countries have opened up and relaxed all measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic; along with that, the demand for trade and tourism of people after 3 years of the pandemic has increased greatly, especially during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, causing a high risk of spreading infectious diseases.
The Ministry of Health recommends that provinces and cities proactively monitor and closely monitor the epidemic situation in their localities; strengthen surveillance at border gates, in medical facilities and in the community to detect early and handle promptly, not allowing the epidemic to spread to the community; promptly report and immediately deploy response measures when the epidemic is at risk of breaking out in the area.
