The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just signed a decision to assign enrollment targets for grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year to 6 private high schools. The total enrollment target of these 6 schools is 46 classes, with 2,070 grade 10 students.
High schools assigned enrollment targets for grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year include: Ly Thanh Tong, Hoang Long, Bac Ha - Dong Da, Mai Hac De, Dong Kinh and Pham Ngu Lao.
Hanoi allows 6 private high schools to enroll more than 2,000 students in grade 10 next school year.
These 6 schools are on the list of 14 schools that do not meet the requirements to be assigned enrollment targets for grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year in the first phase, in April 2023. Regarding the remaining 8 schools, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said it is continuing to review and check enrollment conditions.
The decision to assign quotas stated: "School principals are responsible for organizing enrollment according to assigned quotas, in accordance with the enrollment regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training. Particularly for Pham Ngu Lao High School, it is required to commit to not organizing dormitories on campus and to strictly implement the educational program of the Ministry of Education and Training."
On the evening of July 10, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also decided to lower the admission scores for additional admission to grade 10 of 31 specialized and non-specialized public high schools so that the schools can meet their assigned enrollment quotas and increase learning opportunities for students in the city.
