A high-altitude fireworks display and a drone light show were the highlights of the program celebrating the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, which took place on the evening of April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This year's holiday, Ho Chi Minh City will organize 5 fireworks displays, including 1 high-altitude display and 4 low-altitude displays, lasting 15 minutes.
The high-altitude point will take place at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel with 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, 30 low-altitude fireworks, and 10 pyrotechnics. The four low-altitude points include: Thao Dien Villa Area (Thu Duc City); Van Phuc Urban Area (Thu Duc City); Tay Bac Industrial Park (Cu Chi District) and Dam Sen Cultural Park.

Since the afternoon, people and tourists from all directions have gathered in the city center, sitting along Bach Dang Wharf Park, on Ton Duc Thang Street, Nguyen Hue Walking Street and at other fireworks display locations.

Many foreign tourists were also present to join in the atmosphere of April 30. Gilles Carto, a French tourist, shared: “I have researched a lot of information about tourism in Vietnam and learned that this is the time to celebrate the holiday. Vietnamese people gather to celebrate the holidays, enjoy the fireworks together in a crowded and fun way. This will be an unforgettable experience for me.”

The sound of fireworks on the day of Southern Liberation and National Reunification not only brought wonderful emotions to every Vietnamese citizen but also left a deep impression on international friends. In that jubilant atmosphere, people suddenly became closer to each other, more aware of the peace, independence, and culture of each human being.
In addition, the attractive drone light performance on the river recalling the historical moment of April 30, 1975 also attracted the attention and love of locals and tourists.

To ensure security and safety for people and tourists, on the evening of April 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Police force and the Department of Transport closely coordinated in traffic diversion in areas, especially on roads surrounding the city center. The Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command continuously coordinated patrols on the river and along the Saigon River, arranged canoes and forces on duty at fireworks display sites to ensure safety and effectiveness for the organization. The Militia and Self-Defense Force monitored unmanned aerial vehicles that could pose a danger to people's recreational activities.
During two days (April 30 and May 1), all historical sites with fees and the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum will be free of charge for people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province. |
On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the reunification of the Fatherland (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024) and the liberation of the Truong Sa archipelago (April 29, 1975), the 69th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7, 1955), the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SOC) - Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Navy Command organized a delegation of overseas Vietnamese to visit and encourage officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK-I platform within the framework of Working Group No. 11. |
