Late on the evening of June 24, the match between the Vietnamese women's team and the German women's team took place at 11:25 p.m. (Vietnam time) at Bieberer Berg Stadium, as part of the preparation plan for the 2023 Women's World Cup.

The Vietnamese women's team played a match that exceeded expectations against the German team, only losing 1-2. Thanh Nha was the one who scored an emotional goal in the last minute of extra time.

Entering the match against an opponent that was superior in every aspect, the Vietnamese women's team chose to play defensive counter-attacks. However, this plan was soon ruined. Right from the 3rd minute, player number 25 Anyomi used his speed to sweep the right wing of the Vietnamese women's team and then made a favorable cross for midfielder Krumbiegel to skillfully backheel the ball to open the score.

Despite conceding an early goal, the Vietnamese girls still calmly deployed their style of play. The German team then created many scoring opportunities but the red shirt defense was still able to stand firm. Not only that, sometimes coach Mai Duc Chung and his team also created surprises for their opponents.

In the 13th minute, receiving the ball from the second line, Hai Yen had a very powerful volley outside the penalty area and forced the German goalkeeper to make a hard save. Continuing with the long-range shot, in the 42nd minute, the Vietnamese team almost had an equalizer when Duong Thi Van launched an extremely dangerous shot, goalkeeper Frohms had to fly as far as possible to be able to push the ball out. This was also the clearest chance for the Vietnamese team in the first half.

In the second half, the Vietnamese team remained steadfast in their defensive counter-attacking style of play. It seemed that the girls were more familiar with the German team’s style of play, so they did not give the team as many chances as before. In addition, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team almost equalized.

In the 77th minute, Tuyet Dung had a chance to intercept a pass from a German defender. She excellently passed goalkeeper Frohms, but the shooting angle was too narrow so she could not put the ball into the net.

However, just 3 minutes later, the German team doubled the gap. Receiving a header from his teammate, Minge had a very quick finish that left Kim Thanh just standing there watching the ball go into the net.

In the remaining minutes, the Vietnamese team surprisingly played very excitedly and continuously had clear scoring situations. In the 85th minute, receiving a long pass from her teammate, Vu Thi Hoa used her speed and great strength to face goalkeeper Frohm, unfortunately her shot was not dangerous enough.

It seemed like we would lose to the German team, but in the last minute of extra time, Thanh Nha used her lightning speed to eliminate the German tank defense, face the goalkeeper and score a historic goal, narrowing the score to 1-2.

This is also the final result of this match.
