Playing explosively in the second half, U23 Vietnam won 6-0 against U23 Guam in the opening match of the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers. Van Do, Van Tung, Van Cuong, Thanh Nhan, Van Toan, and Vi Hao were the players who scored.

U23 Guam is not highly rated against Vietnam, and the away team is even predicted to receive a heavy defeat at Viet Tri Stadium.
In fact, U23 Guam was completely defeated throughout the 90 minutes of play, this team did not have a single attack that threatened Van Viet's goal.
U23 Vietnam poured forward to attack after the opening whistle, however, coach Troussier's team did not increase the speed of the match and pressure the opponent.
The unclear attacks of U23 Vietnam made the first 15 minutes of the match quite dull, after that the home players accelerated and created more finishing shots than before.
In the 33rd minute, his teammates passed the ball smoothly for Van Do to rush in and score from the center of the penalty area.
However, the goal that broke the deadlock did not help U23 Vietnam play more effectively in the remaining time of the first half, so the two teams entered the break with a difference of only 1 goal.
Entering the second half, U23 Vietnam immediately adjusted personnel and created a sharper attacking style than the first half.
In the 54th minute, Van Tung successfully executed the 11m penalty, raising the score to 2-0. U23 Guam quickly lost strength and could not resist the strong attacks of U23 Vietnam.
Goals by Van Cuong in the 68th minute, Thanh Nhan in the 79th minute and Van Toan in the 83rd minute helped U23 Vietnam lead 5-0. The 6-0 victory was sealed by Vi Hao in the 89th minute after he successfully converted a penalty kick.
With a big win over U23 Guam, U23 Vietnam rose to the top of Group C of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers, thanks to a better goal difference than U23 Yemen. At 7:00 p.m. on September 9, U23 Vietnam will play U23 Yemen.
