With home advantage, Liverpool started the match with great excitement. The home team converted dangerous opportunities with the opening goal in the 28th minute. Receiving the ball from the middle, Szoboszlai calmly observed and then unleashed a powerful long-range shot into the visitors' net.

Liverpool created a few more scoring opportunities in the rest of the first half but could not take advantage. The first 45 minutes ended with a 1-goal lead for The Kop.
In the second half, Liverpool created a rain of goals against West Ham. In the 56th minute, receiving a pass from Nunez, Curtis Jones ran down and skillfully finished from a narrow angle, raising the score to 2-0 for The Kop.
In the 71st minute, Gakpo fired a dangerous shot from just outside the West Ham penalty area to score Liverpool's third goal. Six minutes later, Bowen's moment of brilliance helped the visitors reduce the score to 1-3. But in the 82nd and 84th minutes, Salah and Curtis Jones scored respectively, helping The Kop win 5-1 overall.

Liverpool secured the final ticket to the semi-finals of the English League Cup with a big win over West Ham. The remaining three spots went to Chelsea, Fulham and Middlesbrough after yesterday's quarter-final matches.
