After their performances in the first round, Thailand and China showed that they are the two strongest teams at the 2023 Asian Volleyball Championship. The class of the two teams continued to be shown in the final match of the tournament.
China's second team participating in the tournament has a level not significantly different from Thailand's. Therefore, the match for the runner-up position is evenly matched.

The Thai and Chinese women's teams took turns winning 4 games in a tight match. The second set was the most exciting when Thailand continuously led but lost 5 set-points and lost.
In the deciding set, the two teams continued to compete for points. The Chinese women's team was slightly better at the beginning of the game and continuously led. However, after the score was 13-13, the Thai women's team took the lead and won 16-14.
Winning a dramatic 3-2 (25-21, 25-27, 25-19, 20-25, 16-14) victory over China, the Thai team won the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship. This is the third time the Golden Temple team has won this tournament.
China won the runner-up position. Japan ranked third. At the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, both China and Japan - the two strongest teams on the continent - only used their second team because the main team is training to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers.
The biggest surprise of the tournament was that the Korean team only ranked 6th overall.
