Appearing at the premiere of the movie Dat rung phuong nam on October 11, actor Phung Ngoc - who played the role of the stork in the TV series Dat phuong nam - received the attention of the media and audience.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Phung Ngoc said that for many years, his life has encountered many difficulties, especially during the time when the Covid-19 pandemic was raging. At that time, he went to Binh Phuoc to take care of a rubber garden. His daily job was to observe the rubber latex harvest and record the quantity.

Phung Ngoc shared: "The garden owner is also familiar with me, so the work is not too difficult. After a while, because there were too many mosquitoes and I was afraid of malaria, I returned to Ho Chi Minh City to work as a security guard. However, working 12 hours a day, the salary was only 7-7.5 million VND while the rent was 1.5 million VND, so I could not make ends meet."
Phung Ngoc added that after the pandemic, he was unable to pay his rent, so he had to sell his only motorbike to pay off his debt. "Since then, I have not had a vehicle to go to work, so I am in a "dire situation", the actor confided.
"Thang Co" from the movie Dat Phuong Nam added that at that time, actor Hung Thuan (who played An in Dat Phuong Nam ) asked him to work together.
"Thuan built me an online sales channel. This job has a "good income", I think it's okay. Thuan saw my difficult situation so he said he would send the commission from the first live session to me to buy a car.
"With a car, I can "fly" and go anywhere. Without a car, I feel like I have no legs. I also hope that the commission will be quite good," Phung Ngoc said.

However, at present, the actor plans to return to his hometown Binh Duong for a while to have surgery for an abscess on his leg before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. He said: "At that time, we'll see if Hung Thuan will accept me again. If he does, I'll continue working (laughs)".
Phung Ngoc admits that his life is "complicated", having gone through many jobs, from motorbike taxi driver, barber, street clothes seller to online seller, security guard...
The actor confided that for many years, he was alone, wandering and traveling everywhere. His life was somewhat deprived, "not enough to take care of himself". When asked to return to the screen and play roles suitable for his age, Phung Ngoc sighed: "I'm old now, my fate with art is over".
When watching the movie Dat rung phuong nam , Phung Ngoc expressed his excitement and emotion. He said that the TV series he participated in in the past and the movie version today are very different, because the facilities, machines and filmmaking techniques are increasingly modern.

Regarding the character Co in the movie Dat rung phuong Nam , Phung Ngoc thinks that there is no breakthrough performance. "The character Co in Dat rung phuong Nam is a bit "dull", not impressive. I also feel a bit sorry for Ky Phong (child actor playing Co - PV) a bit", he said.
Phung Ngoc was born and raised in Binh Duong. Since childhood, he followed an uncle to Ho Chi Minh City to help with housework and to help his uncle practice magic.
After starting his acting career with the role of the Stork in Southern Land , Phung Ngoc participated in a few works and then gradually disappeared from the screen.
There was a time when Phung Ngoc lived a vagrant life, wandering from Vinh Long, Can Tho, to Da Lat, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City or Phu Quoc to find work. However, he could only live in each place for 2-3 years before leaving.
Phung Ngoc's married life was not perfect either. In 2004, he married a girl from the same hometown, then divorced because of an unstable life and unstable career.
